Some companies donate tens of thousands to helicopter rescue outfits like our local STARS program, so it's possible that a company decided to put their usual donation through the Hammond fund.

i dont see the need for all the donations, i mean i love top gear and I think Hammond is great and all, but its not like he was trying to save the world or anything when he got hurt. BBC or Top Gear should cover all expenses no images/smilies/mellow.gif
