I was just looking at the list of entrants for the '06 Dakar, and found this:

Pilot : HAMMOND RICHARD
Co-Pilot: BANYARD TERRY
Make: BOWLER
Nat: UK

Terry Banyard has also driven the Dakar with a guy named Chris Hammond according to the GoRaid site. It would be awesome if it's the Hamster!

That will be awesome... Looks like he had a good time in it on Top Gear a couple of years ago. That car really is indestructible, baring in mind the punishments it was subjected to...

They might tonight, but to be honest I don't think they'll mention in this series. I think it's a segment for one of the seasons next year, so for the people that don't surf around the interweb all the time, it'll come as a surprise images/smilies/smile.gif

Except that in the Dakar's it has entered so far it has broken down a couple of times adn hasn't finished that high up the leaderboard. Maybe just some teething difficulties.

Thats because the Dakar is in a League of its own. All cars break down several times during the trip.

Two Bowlers finished the last Dakar in 13th and 14th IIRC... some 22 or so hours behind Peterhansel.
