I thought Jeremy was making them up too when I saw the Botswana episode so when I read that bit in As Yo Do I had to google them to fnd out more. S'all true - they're harder than a Geordie who's just had his pint spilt images/smilies/lol.gif

Apparently. I didn't actually believe them when they were discussing Honey Badgers in the Botswana episode but from his description seems they're quite a badass animal.

I bought 'As you do' from Angus and Robertson the other day but have only found the time to start reading it now. As Momo63 said, it's not exactly a literary masterpiece, but it's an entertaining read on some of the behind the scenes stuff you dont often get to see on the show.

<edit> I just watched the youtube clip posted above

Last year British armed forces were blamed for releasing a plague of honey badgers in Basra.

As far as I'm concerned, the best quote from the whole article was UK military spokesman Major Mike Shearer said: "We can categorically state that we have not released man-eating badgers into the area.

So there you go. They're so fearsome, the armed forces have been accused of using them as a secret weapon!

I had forgotten about that story.

For the record, woverines are vicious too. Probably a cousin to the badger. I saw a man that had been attacked. The thing had almost torn the guys legs off this body. His jeans were so bloody, the blood was dripping off them.

That is correct. Both are subfamilies of the Mustelidae (weasel) family.

book sounds good....but the library or the bookstore dont carry it here.

I went to borders and asked for "On the Edge" by Richard Hammond, and their reply was "Who is Richard Hammond"

They need more topgear in their system

I have bought the book from amazon.co.uk. The delivery to Germany took a week, but it was definitely worth it images/smilies/smile.gif The book is great, some behind-the-scenes infos you just don't get anywhere else, and some great laughs as well.
