Default Hammond tricked into hitting his own ferrari

I'm sure this is a repost but searching couldnt find the original post for this video link

+ YouTube Video
ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed.

is this the same ferrari from the $10K supercar challenge, therefore, does this car really belong to him or is it property of the BBC?

I heard he bought it off the BBC after the £10,000 challenge and had it completely re-built. It's the same reg. plate from the challenge, so unless they're trying to be really smart, it's the same car.

Surely if they went to the trouble of faking the car, they'd fake the plate.

From the Top Gear production notes:

Quote:
After we filmed this item Richard was so attached to his Ferrari he hung onto it and spent a load of cash getting it to run properly. Unfortunately, not long after it was fixed he was team captain on the never-popular BBC Two car quiz Petrolheads and managed to smash into it during filming of a blindfold parking test, prompting another expensive trip to the bodyshop

Well, c'mon, a lot of vintage car restorers don't really do it for the money.
