Hammond's helmet - HE HAS IT!!!!
Yes fellow Finalgearers, I've just received word:
Richard has the helmet!! I don't have any details of the presentation itself, but I do know it's happened. Before we get to the juicy stuff (the final pics), if you want a full recap on the story, check these threads: Our discussion of the accident The donation fund Your wishes for Richard (This was sent with the helmet) Vote / discussion on gift selection Vote / discussion on helmet design The final stages A huge thanks to wooflepoof , BerserkerCatSplat, & Armuri (Viper's sister) for their excellent work in designing the logos that went on the helmet, and to those who helped along the way with the logistics of this (particularly the member who helped in contacting the Top Gear office - I won't name you in case you want to keep your contacts secret). Also thanks to our painters - Jason Fowler and his team at JLF Designs. They put up with my constant questions and follow ups, and did such an amazing job on the helmet. They even added us to their news section (I didn't know that helmet pic was there...). And finally, and most importantly, thanks to all our members who contributed to this - both financially, and by way of suggestion and encouragement. GROUP HUG!! Now, onto the pics: Firstly, the work-in-progress pics posted previously:           And the final product (make sure you click the image after it's loaded to maximise it and see the full detail):       The final package, including the Best Wishes thread and covering letter (again, click to maximise for full detail - plus you can read the letter if you want). See that Zonda header on the letter? I thought I'd have to reload the main page many times to get the Zonda header to appear, but it came up first time - who'd have guessed?  So somewhere in England there's a Hammond with a great new gift, hopefully feeling pretty damn proud of what he's achieved.
