2.besides he drives lots of fast and expensive cars so the ferrari isn't so incredible to him. he wants to get only cars that he really falls in love with.... and by the way: Good job Jezza. enjoy it and stop being so nit-picky for once in your life....[/quote] i was just wondering since he called the F430, and he M5 for that matter, the Greatest Cars that he has driven, EVAR. |

I can't believe why he gets rubbish cars like that...
F430, DB9 anyone? |

Seen both the F430 and the DB9... man...! What good looking cars! Not to mention their brilliance! Click here
Still... The GT40 is not bad at all, not in the least... Okay apart from the rather poor fuel consumption and the broken alarm and the switched off tracking system and the non-working sat-nav... Still one of the great future classics! |

Still better than an RX-8. Or any rotary-engined car. Or any Mazda. Or any Japanese car. By far.

Well, it's about time he came around. I'm sure that Ford lending him that DB9 had nothing to do with it.
The SLK is a fine car, for sure! Not a bad choice, all things considered. The GT-R would have been a cool thing to have... but I can't really imagine Jeremy driving a Skyline on a regular basis. I'd take the Skyline over the SLK any day, but I'm not Jeremy Clarkson. Who knows, maybe when I'm retired, I'll buy a Mercedes. |

Well its better than Skyline or S2000 ("What do you drive Monsieur Clarkson?" *cough* "Uh... Nissan/Honda")... Merc is a Merc... The name and the badge just commands a certain status... Unlike the very good cars made by the Japanese, just, its Japanese and their names have no history... no legacy like a Ferrari or Porsche or Mercedes would have... Pedigree

^ HOWEVER, if he drives his GT, he has to say that he drives a Ford.

SLK! Mmmm....
As much as I like the GT, Ford has a reputation of, well, screwing up. Mercedes, not there yet, but if they keep going at it, their quality in cars will reach Ford-status really soon. |

Keep in mind, he's "bored with ferrari" Besides, picture it. Clarkson in an F430. C'mon, theres gotta be something special about the GT because he's quite the nit picky so and so and he COULD'VE had an F430, he even said in the TG magazine once that he'd bought the wrong car w/ the GT. He admitted that the 430 was the better car. and yet he still chose the GT. It must strike quite the chord with him.

I just got thinking...now I know why he was comparing the SLK350's interior to the SL's interior a few months back in his article. I recall him saying that it was better. So it seems he was planning this for months now. Its just so funny that he is sticking this in James face though
