Default How much warning do you get? Tickets...

I put myself on the waiting list for show tickets, if selected, how much time to I have? I would probably need a couple weeks to a month notice to make travel arrangements to the UK. If selected, I will drop everything and go, the pond in my way won't stop me, my wife and I are planning to go to the UK anyway. (She's been there twice already)

I'm on the list as well, since I'm going to the UK sometime in the next couple years, anyone have any ideas?

apparently at one point they got 20,000 requests for that show everyday and i think that was in 2005. the waiting list is something like 19 years long. im sure you get at least a few months but even if they choose randomly it's still a lottery. You definitely have time to save up some money

You usually only get about 5-6 days notice. You either get "The call" or an email telling you that tickets have been allocated, and then you have to call to confirm you still want them.
I was on the waiting list 2 and a half years before i got one. I know people who have been waiting over 3 years, and others who got tickets after only 3 months. It really is a lottery.

Thanks. With that short notice there is about a 50% chance I'll be able to get arrangements done in time.

free

the tickets are free "due to the unique way the BBC is funded"

which along with the sheer popularity of the show, is probably one of more major reasons that the wating list is just massive

Don't they require for you to book with equal numbers of men and women too? It's frigging hard considering I'm the only girl with a group of blokes who want to book it.

Yes, they want equal 50/50 men and women.
Well, I got extrrrremly lucky, signed up for the waiting list on a Monday and got a call 2 hours later if I'd like to have tickets for the recording on the Thrusday same week.
So you'd probably don't even get a week's notice.

nah, it's not imperitive you go 50/50. That's just to stop packs of 8 or more single sex groups going really. I have known groups of 8 go with only 2 blokes in the group, so I wouldn't worry.

You'd have to go with one of those last minute ticket websites, otherwise you'll pay way to much. But to be there would be worth it. Good luck though.

I suppose the 'equal number' rule is to stop too many women jumping on and attacking Hammond.

(If only.)
