Default If they Kill the Sting(stag(stig)) I'm Boycotting Top Gear. Whose with me?!
After learning the identity of the Stig was revealed today, I was in shock!! The last time this happened to the black stig Clarkson, Hammond, and May killed him with nitrous. The truth is we've gone through too much with this Stig, through the good times and the bad. So to the people at Top Gear I say this, If you kill off Ben I will boycott top gear. I realize my quality of life will degrade because I will lose my favorite automotive program and the only substitute is crappy fifth gear.... I beg of you Clarkson, Hammond, and May do not kill the white Stig!!!!!!!images/smilies/cry.gif

Umm...no. They were so out of ideas with this Stig they had him listening to morse code, FFS.

Don't get me wrong, I love his personality, but it's not like he's an integral character that couldn't be "tweaked" with a new one.

Frankly, some posts here are rather disturbingly...passionate about every little thing of Top Gear. We are not like fans of American Idol now are we?

Passionate first post and for that you must be applauded (but not for spelling or grammar. Ahem!) however I suggest strongly that you don't cut off your nose to spite your face. Please therefore continue to watch Top Gear regardless of what/who the Stig may be or may become.

It did occur to me that this news might have emerged for a reason, and that in spite of alleged protests from an unnamed BBC source in The Times the timing might be such that, if the gentleman so named in the press is indeed the Stig, he has decided to hang up his white helmet to pave the way for a new (silver perhaps?) Stig to take his place and this whole palaver may in fact be a carefuly orchestrated piece of PR. It's certainly something I wouldn't put past them.

And please, no references to tin foil hats - I'm not suggesting a conspiracy here, merely a possible background to events. Of course only time, as ever, will tell.

PS Necrojoe, given the quality and humour of your usual posts I am surprised the Morse thing didn't float your boat, but hey it takes all sorts to make a world. But the Stig having a personality? Hello? Hello? McFly?

He is just too good a driver for them to let him go, unlike the last one.

Firstly, the Stig's identity hasn't been confirmed - it's just a newspaper report based on what "some guy said". So there's no need to kill the Stig. Besides, even if they did choose to kill White Stig, they'd just put current Stig in a new coloured suit for the hell of it.

More to the point, who is Sting, and what does he have to do with Top Gear?

srsly, I think Wilman and co could have fun with this, and have some racing driver (preferably well-known, Damon Hill would do nicely) in the Stig outfit going on to 'reveal' themselves as the Stig, and laugh in the face of journalism!
