JC Beats Clint Eastwood & Bruce Willis in Man's Man Poll

TOP Gear host Jeremy Clarkson was yesterday named the man other blokes most admire.

Witty Jeremy, 48, known for his no nonsense approach to political correctness, beat tough guy actor Ray Winstone, 51, as the ultimate man’s man in a new poll.

Third was chef Gordon Ramsay, 41, followed by Apprentice boss Sir Alan Sugar, 61, and movie legend Clint Eastwood, 78.

The rest of the top ten were Welsh boxing sensation Joe Calzaghe, 36, Die Hard actor Bruce Willis, 53, comic Peter Kay, 35, footballer David Beckham, 33, and The Office creator Ricky Gervais, 47.

Sun columnist Jeremy greeted the win with a dig at his Top Gear co-star, saying: “This is brilliant news. James May will be very jealous.”

Jon Dixon of XXX Mints, which carried out the poll of 4,000 men, said Jeremy’s “gobby attitude” was popular.

He added: “Jeremy was the clear winner.

“He’s confident, knowledgeable and just a little bit arrogant, which are traits that men clearly admire in other men.”

Congrats to Jeremy, but to be honest, I wish it HAD been James May as the man most blokes admire.

No matter what he does, he looks like he is doing the best job he can. The examples that pops to mind is driving that paving machine, or plowing with the tractor. Jeremy half ass does everything.

I enjoy watching Jeremy half ass things, but He is not the one I would want at my house doing things.

Screw confident, knowledgeable and a bit arrogrant. Give me a man that tries to do it right.

Wait, David Beckham was in the list as manliest man? I thought he was the exact antithesis of manliness. What with all the coloured fingernails and other metrosexual attributes.

    suppose you don't have a man's opinion?

Your answer is exactly the kind of pointless rubbish us men don't really care about

so talking rubbish and doing things half assed is manly now?
In that case I'm the manliest man ever!

good thing that manliness has nothing to do with strength, wit, or heroism anymore

Am I reeeeeally the only one who thinks Jezza might not be the most manliest of men ? I mean sure yes he is arrogant, badly mannered, shouty and overly egoeistic in the same way that a cave man is. Yes, those are the reasons why we like JC so much, me included. But is he "The Alfa male"....no.....this poll has other examples as well; Ricky Gervais, well yes, he is funny but he is also fat (trying to add some black humour here)......David Beckham for crying out loud ?!?

And +1 for James to win. Now he actually SHOULD have been at the top. Maybe not the first but surely towards the top.

Clint Eastwood would be my pick by miles from those mentioned in the article.

Nowhere does it say that JC is the manliest man. However he is the man that other men most admire..

I agree wholeheartedly. He's far more classy and quiet enough so that when he's witty it's even more funny - the perfect foil to loud, arrogant people like JC. Also, he loves old cars and has a shed full of motorcycles in his garage...so at the risk of sounding gay (), he's who I want to be when I grow up.

Snogging a mantis-faced hatstand with the voice and bust of a baboon in heat? Surely not a convincing argument. And her knees are sharp too.

4,000 men who eat mints, think Jeremy is a man's man. Retire now, Jeremy, you've achieved it all.

James should have won, Clarkson being a man's man is just plain daft.

He doesn't have two brain cells to rub together and his annoying attitude gets him in to all sorts of bother.

Then again, James is probably the ladies man!

I believe that's why the awards was called "man's man" instead of "woman's man".

ahahaha! you brits sure are... funny. but hey everyone is entitled to their opinions as to what a "man's man" is, so i'll be nice about some of those on that list. maybe the brits' criteria was based more on virtues than the badass factor. atleast clint eastwood made the list, so i guess there are some proper men in britain afterall.
