Default Jeremys annual videos?

Will there be another annual hour long JC car vid this year? If I'm not mistaken, The Good The Bad and The Ugly came out last August.

Came out last November!

No word about a release date, but there was a post on a forum about a race with Stiggy and Sabine Shmitz with an Ascari.

The Good the Bad and the Ugly was the worst car related video I've ever seen. If that was first Clarkson video that I saw, I wouldn't watch anything else that he was in.

That whole damn video was just misinformation and bias. "hey lets get an automatic V6 convertible Mustang and claim it's a V8 even though it's down by nearly 100 hp" And then there was the Dodge Ram vs Atom "test", the Buick vs Jag water "test", the Chrysler 300 SRT-8 vs BMW M5 drag race where Clarkson concludes that American sedans are worse than European ones etc.

The Roush, the Viper vs Z4M and GTX-1 were good though.

Don't forget the "Off Road Test". Taught me so much. Like an Escalade with low profile street tires can't climb up a cliff. Oh, and a Hummer H2 that doesn't work for some reason won't get you up a mountain.

Valuable stuff, man.

It's not supposed to be valuable or informative, it's entertainment and lots of people were entertained. I was more entertained than I have been by previous JC DVD's because of the greater production values and obviously higher budget and what that enabled them to do. He could have said the Mustang had 3000 horsepower and raced it against a pedal-go-kart from Europe and shown it losing.

Anyway we already had 300 pages of this drivel in a TGTBATU thread, go be butt-hurt about it there.

Nah, we're staying on topic.

I think the big problem is that TGTBATU is technically a documentary, or at least that's what it's classified as when you search for the DVD online.
You think it shouldn't be "valuable or informative" and excuse all the obvious fallacies and staged tests, in a documentary?

Ill agree the inaccuracies made it almost unwatchable, but otherwise i still found it very entertaining.

For Jeremy Clarkson's new DVD he has travelled the Planet - from Spain via Strasbourg to Swindon - for the Supercar Showdown to beat them all. His aim is simple - find the ultimate Supercar.

Jeremy starts a fight between a prancing horse and a raging bull as topless versions of the Ferrari 430 and Lamborghini Gallardo slug it out. The Gallardo's big cousin, the Murcielago, weighs in too.

The Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano struts its stuff and Audi's R8 faces up to the Porsche GT3 as special guest, Nurburgring-know-all Sabine Schmitz takes on The Stig.

Jeremy also turns into a Formula 1 hero thanks to a Radical SR3. And has a fantastic time in the Aston Martin Vantage V8 Roadster. Plus there's a new kid on the block in the shape of the stunning Ascari A10. And the line-up would not be complete without the 1000 horsepower, 252 miles per hour Bugatti Veyron.

Meanwhile, everything else explodes as Jeremy finds out if there is such a thing as "Too much" turbo power, a Renault Alpine A610 comes to the end of the road and I answer the big question - Which is stronger, the electric G-Wiz or a table?

Wow that sounds entertaining! I don't like that he's going to destroy an Alpine A610 though, weren't only a 1000 or so ever made?

Jeremy and the production team would call it an automotive entertainment DVD I'm sure, even if retailers classify it as a documentary.

It has flashy expensive powerful cars sliding around doing things you can't see them do anywhere else. That makes me happy. I'm not about to complain that "oooh but he said the bolt on the Mustang's suspension is a type BZ0/A1 with a .086 gauge when it's actually a BZ0/A2 on that model".
Okay I'm being fatuous there, the type of engine is a much bigger difference, but if you wanted to hear someone recite the brochure you wouldn't need Jeremy Clarkson, a nice budget and good production for that. Since they do have a Jeremy Clarkson, nice budged and good production, they're doing what they're good at. Making good looking exciting visual entertainment.

I'm happy with that.

They can make it entertaining as all hell... without blowing smoke. You know?

Like the offroad test I mentioned a few posts back. I'm sure the Range Rover would beat an Escalade and Hummer H2 in almost any test you can come up with. There is no reason why they needed to stage that test. In the end, it really didn't make the segment any more entertaining. In fact, it made it much more boring. Wouldn't it have been exciting to see the trucks hauling ass up the dirt roads/hill sides trying to get to the top of the mountain? I think so. Instead the other 2 cars dropped out and the Range Rover drove at an easy pace up the little dirt road to the top of the mountain. Yay. Well, that sure was the most action packed, edge of my seat, adrenaline filled thrill ride of a race that I've ever seen. images/smilies/yawn.gif
