im sorry but if i was high off my ass on millions of drugs and one of the new imprezzas was parked next to a geo with rosey o donnel in it i would still think it was hideous

Its a Citroën DS! And yes it is far, far better looking than the Impreza.

Some people, and Clarkson is an extreme example of this, just seem to have a congenital defect that makes them unable to understand that people are different, and see things in completely different ways.

I have a friend kind of like that. She's really smart, and has a pretty clear understanding of the world, I think. But then she says stuff like: "Why would anyone do that? They can't possibly think that X is better than Y." Well, yes, they can. You can think that's stupid, and you can think they shouldn't hold that opinion, but isn't it kind of silly to believe that they couldn't possibly hold that opinion? There are whole nations of people who think that David Hasselhoff is a great singer, for instance.

If you underestimate the general public's ability to love something that you despise, you will always wander through the world constantly mystified by everyone's behavior.

BTW: I love hearing Clarkson's opinion, even if I don't agree with it. Few people can express their wrong opinions in such a completely entertaining way.
