the signal gets almost twice as strong because it is reflected of a straight surface. All the signals sent to your head are reflected back, increasing the strength of the signal. It works with the rest of your body as well as your head. Think of it as a reversed parabole antenna, where the signal is sent from the reciever in all directions. If there is a wall close to the sender, the signal will be reflected.

Range means more power and by having more rays you only get more intensity, IMO...

Agreed... everytime I do it the fob is always at a 90 angle to my face (facing into my brain... tumorous, i know) so the theory doesn't exactl stand true.

well, it does work with any straight surface, so i still think my theory stands up. Remember, your head will still send signals in a 90 degrees as well, because it has wrinkles and isnt TOTALLY smooth.
