Default MPH & TG Live '08

So I was at the NEC today for MPH. For anyone else who was there you couldn't have missed me in my FG shirt and carrying a camera with a massive flash and diffuser on the top.

The show was good and included a few surprises compared to previous shows, including the Cool Wall that you might have already heard of and the audience doing a lap in the RPC.

I'll let these pictures do the talking, not many I'm afraid but I was right at the back with nothing but heads in front of me. I went and stood up at the back for a while to get some shots but it wasn't much better really. So if you were there for the 18:30 show, I was the bastard lighting up the room from the top. images/smilies/tongue.gif

Pictures to come soon btw.

The cards were green on one side and red on the other, but red meant cool, and green meant un cool. I still haven't worked out why yet.

<--- Jealous? Yes.

You know, the last 8 years weren't that great for the US. I should have just gotten dual citizenship in the UK and stayed there. I have an American friend who lives there. It would have been nice. All the Top Gear events I could have dreamed of!

Well this exact show is coming to the US next year so if you can make the journey then you'll get to see them live. images/smilies/smile.gif

Thanks for the brilliant pix, Matt. We went to the 11am show today (Sunday 16th) and my pictures were rubbish.

Can't remember exactly what our lap time was - it put us about 6 from the bottom. The best bit of that part, however, was that when Jeremy chose an audience member to photograph to represent our audience (and consequently get shown throughout the world) he chose a very attractive dark-haired lady and encouraged her a couple of times to lean forward to the camera. When to picture came up Richard in particular noticed why - she was a curvy lady in a low top. Jeremy guessed she probably had an Audi TT. Some of the audience got it....

BTW, anyone else who's been either to Earls Court of one of the other NEC shows, was the musical number really a surprise to the lads, or was that quite good acting?

I don't know what you're talking about, must have been a surprise because nothing like that happened in our show. James needed to go for a dump though half way through the SIARPC section though.

I think our time was 1:41.4 or .6, and we were 4th from the top. Apparently the best one so far at the NEC. images/smilies/smile.gif

^ No they never broadcast MPH or TG live, especially this time because of the world tour. If you're lucky someone will have a video of it, they did last year. images/smilies/smile.gif
