Car: '98 Ford Escort ZX2 Rep Power: 22 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Recently, I was playing a Metal Gear Solid - 3, I think - and I was thinking, the soundtrack for it would be a pretty great source of music for TG. It's mostly by series favorite Harry Gregson-Williams, so it'd fit right in with all the other stuff used. The MGS series as a whole has a fantastic set of soundtracks, and a lot of it could be used by TG pretty well. Anyway, this got me to thinking what other sources could fit right in, and I gravitated towards games mostly because that - in spite of a Halo track once - seems to be the source least likely to be used right now, and yet one of the ones which could probably have the most interesting choices. Also, I am a complete nerd. I know the Prince of Persia soundtracks are perfect for the style. Silent Hill is another series which has some good tracks for the purpose, though it also has a greater number that wouldn't work at all. There are others too, though truth be told I can't think of them offhand. Usually modern stuff though, older things seem to sound too obviously 'game-y', instead of appropriately cinematic. So I figured I'd toss it out there, what's some stuff that you think would make a great musical cue? Either entire albums or single tracks, anything at all. |

| I'd have thought that something off the Dune soundtrack by Toto would have been obvious for the African special, but they didn't go for it, even though Prologue; Main Title would have been perfect for the high/wide shots of the desert. They did use a few tracks from the excellent score from Tokyo Drift in a previous series, but could have used more, particularly for the GT-R ascending the mountain in 11x04, where it couldn't fit better. From the Deus Ex:Invisible War score, Seattle - City Hub & Emerald Suites would suit a moody flashy car intro pretty shot in half darkness.

| Some of John Barry's less well known compositions might work. He did write quite a few of the Bond soundtracks after all. For really surreal and quite cool Steve Reich and Philip Glass offer some interesting alternatives. I'll scroll through my collection at the weekend and see if I can come up with any other decent ideas.

Rep Power: 5 ![]() ![]() ![]() | Anything off of South's first album would work really well. Or how about the beginning of "How Soon Is Now" by The Smiths? The last couple minutes of "Thela Hun Ginject" by King Crimson? "The Cross of Changes" or "I Love You, I'll Kill You" by Enigma? "Starlings" by Elbow? "Race for the Prize" by The Flaming Lips? "Apricot Morning" by Quantic? |

| I was genuinely surprised to hear The Stooges during the GTR bullet train race. Not many people have heard of Iggy Pop's first band (and my favorite ) but that song in particular is one of a handful that's pretty popular (it was part of the only scene in Smokin' Aces that didn't suck, for example).
