Well that might have added to the grainyness but the ISO setting was high to start with, it's not the original image so I can't look at the Exif data to tell you but still.

Anyway, it's not like you guys don't have tripods, so you could just use a lower ISO and a longer exposure images/smilies/smile.gif

I bet it's impossible to get our hands on the original pic, but I would've liked to play with it just for fun, because while the sky's awesome, the grass was edited at the same time apparently and it looks very unatural now.

But well, it's still a great pic, thanks for giving it to us! 8)

Didn't notice that post images/smilies/oops.gif

1/800 speed, I bet the ISO wasn't that high (too bad we can't see it in the exif you posted)

a Canon IXUS, haha weird choice, that's usually for people who want a very small camera, I assumed TV show people wouldn't care about something big! images/smilies/tongue.gif

In fact, the Ixus 400 has the same image processor as my camera, a S45. So I guess the V3 might have the processor of the S30.
The pictures from a S45 and a S400 are different, of course, but not that different that you'd say the quality loss is unbearable.

Yeah yeah, but it's got less features, and it's harder to hold steady due to its size

Most of the photos we use are taken by one of the directors, he's a great photographer, but uses a compact camera, becasue its easy to manage on a busy shoot.

In an ideal world I would go along and take photos with a digital SLR. But thats just not possible.

I think that the Ixus are great, but perfrom quite poorly in low light. But hey, its quite a low cost camera images/smilies/smile.gif

Yeah, his stuff is mostly pretty good, he just needs a better camera that produces less noise and such. images/smilies/happy.gif

The problem is, he isn't provided a camera by the BBC. Its his own. And we would all pick different equipment for work and home stuff.

The problem is, as always, money.

You could maybe try asking the representatives of the car companies, i bet they're not shy to help you out.

As for the pics now, they're actually quite good. Cheers for posting a new one every month.

The explains many things, I never said the Ixus wasn't a good camera, it's just not professional, but if it's his, then it's a good choice, very nice customer level camera images/smilies/thumbsup.gif
