I'd be pretty certain it will make an appearance on Top Gear.

Perhaps Richard will do it up?images/smilies/happy.gif

It's all scripted, even Richard's fake affection for "Oliver". So of course it will show up again, probably at the end of the season.

Of course, because we know the presenters aren't allowed to, God forbid, show affection for a car.

He said in the magazine he would find a use for it if he had to use it to keep chickens in.

You could tell be the way he wrote about it he has deep feeling for the car, so I doubt he will give it to the chickens.

I can't see why if Hammond forms an emotional attachment to a car it must be scripted because he is on television. I have had an attachment to every car I've ever owned for one reason or another. I think it's awesome that he's not afraid to express his feelings for a car on the show.

It´s Television, come on. Don´t be so naive.

I also agree that there is a good bit "planned" about the Hamster-Oliver thingi. I wouldn´t call it "scripted", but they´ve pushed that Joke a lot in the Africa-special and after, with doesn´t quite go with it being very "spontaneous". Hard to tell to what degree, but IMHO it doesn´t seem to be 100% real. On the other Hand it doesn´t feel really faked ... so I guess there is also a true "core" to the thing ... hard to tell where the real bit ends and the entertainment-show starts ...

They may have decided that would be good for a laugh, and then through editing, made it seem like a much bigger thing that it may have been. Epic episodes like the African one seem less likely to be as scripted as say, the caravan holiday...

it's not scripted... take a look near the end of the US special in 9x03 where Clarkson shows affection for his car ...

Did a search, but didn't see anything more recent about Oliver's fate. Anyone have an update?

Was shown in 10x10 in the TG Awards section, in the studio. So it's in the UK now.

Actually--wasn't Oliver in the studio for the last ep of Series 10? I seem to remember seing him (now I'm doing it) there.

In fact, some members of the audience nominated Oliver as Car of the Year, no?
