I was looking around on Youtube and saw one of the "Star in a reasonably priced car" sections, and got to wondering something. Have Jeremy, James, or Richard done a timed lap in the Liana or the Lacetti? If so, anyone have their times? I wonder how close they'd be compared to his holyness, The Stig.
Thanks for any info. |

Does anyone know if Jeremy's lap was done when they were briefly making the track wet to level the playing field?
I don't have access to my beloved videos so I can't check... I don't even remember them showing Jezza's lap. |

Thanks Labcoatguy. Longtime lurker (since TG season 7) and 4th (now 5th) time poster.
I just did a wikipedia search on "Star in a reasonably priced car" and turned up the White Stig's lap time in the Liana of 1:44.4. I'm willing to wager that the Hamster and Jason Dawe being in the Liana during Jeremy's lap would probably add a second or 3 to his time. I'll have to look for the ep where he does the lap and check it out. I'd personally love to see Jezza, Captain Slow, and the Hamster throw their helmets into the ring and see how they stand on the leaderboard. |

^ It's true without the two passengers he'd do quite a bit better... I don't get why they did his lap like that, especially given Jason Dawe must have weighed a good 400 lbs.
Also, one has to consider Jeremy has had much more practice on the Dunsfold track since 2002. Practice does make perfect, afterall. |

Actually Richard and Jason together probably weighed 400 lbs added to the fact that Jeremy is not a small man himself. I would say the car was weighted down a bit. So 1:50 was very respectful.

And he wasn't exactly being serious either, I think this series we should see them all do separate laps, just so we can call James slow and Clarkson can argue with Hammond about how he was faster even though his time was seconds off.

Yeah it would be interesting to see how well Clarkson would do flat out with no passengers and was really concentrating. Im sure he would get into the 1:48 range at least.

![]() I weigh about 250 lbs. and I'm in no way obese, so I guessed he'd be close to 400. |

I'm pretty sure Jeremy can make a 1:47 after all he laped the 'ring in under 10min in a disel Jag
I mean, how hard can it be?
