Default Public Screening of Top Gear in London (in a pub, ...)?

Like all of you I have been looking forward to see the first episode of the new Top Gear season this sunday. As I only move to London this sunday, I won't have a tv set arranged yet. Is there any pub or other public place in London, where they show Top Gear? I would greatly appreciate any tip! I live close to canary wharf so that would be the best area, but of course I would "travel" to see it live images/smilies/wink.gif

Thanks for your help, its Top Gear Time again!

Best bet is a posh Hotel near by I should imagine - is there football at the same time, if there is you will have trouble getting the channel you want (i.e. BBC2).

Very possibly, I know a few pubs (in Glasgow, admittedly) that show Doctor Who as well. You could try phoning around. You may have problems if there's Euro 2008 football being played at the same time, though.

The other thing to do would be to watch it on iPlayer a couple hours afterwards, if you have PC / internet / an internet cafe nearby.

There is football on at the same time, so I doubt any pubs will be showing it. Not got a mates house you can go around and watch it with them?

You clearly have an internet connection - unless your in an internet cafe.

If you do have broadband you can watch through Zattoo - it carries BBC Two

I'd invite you round my gaff, but it's in a proper shit state and you might be a bit David Blaine. If you PM me I can tell you the pub I saw May in a few months ago. Dunno if it's his local, but he seemed pretty relaxed.

EDIT: Anyway Doc I thought you moved to London years ago images/smilies/wink.gif

valentino_rosssi - ah sorry didn't read the first post properly - that's a bit of arse really images/smilies/sad.gif

Um... what about Curry's shop window - although sound could be a problem.

Actually I agree with other posters - the posher venues would probably be your best bet - or if you're REALLY desperate just book yourself into a really cheap hotel for the night - should have a TV with BBC Two images/smilies/smile.gif

images/smilies/lol.gif You're awesome.

Do you get BBC2 there? Or are you gonna use a rip?

Gonna use the rip from here, and the airing is gonna be on Sunday night. As it goes with this weekend at my uni,

Friday: Prospective students arrive --> three blonde chicks staying over the weeked

Saturday: International Festival at our town, uni taking part, nonstop partying

Sunday: My university's campusfest, a full day party full of drinking, live music, drinking, some highland games, some more drinking and then another big party, and to top it all, Topgear to end the night.

True, but (depending on upload speeds, when the rip's up and how long the Beeb take to put it on iPlayer) either could be faster.

Doubt any of the Big Chains in the centre of town will, but my local in the suburbs certainly did, and a couple of the pubs near my uni did / does.

We usually have the rip out within a half hour. It shows up on iPlayer an hour after. So, it comes down to your download speeds and if you're inside the UK or not.
