Think I read it here somewhere:

Right click anywhere on your desktop, Properties > Settings tab > Advanced > Troubleshoot > Hardware Acceleration slider all the way to None.

Viola! You can do the screen capture by using the Print Screen method.

Or just use Kaffine in Linux.

If u use vlc, right click on screen and click snapshot.

Some players have a screenshot feature built in.

I use VLC Media Player for all my video needs (except dvd's, for that I use WinDVD.) It has a built in screen capture option. WinDVD does as well, but for some reason it only functions correctly with certain video formats.

there was a Skyline in the "How hard can it be to make a convertible ppl carrier" episode. Jermy was driving the van, talking about how it was the best of the ppl carriers and he passed a parked Skyline (which was to the left side of the screen) check it out

Actually, that's the Eagle E-Type that Jeremy uses in "Jeremy Clarkson meets the neighbours" and infact, that's him in it. That would be from the German episode obviously.

Try disabling hardware acceleration. Also try to use the "Screenshot" button/key in your player.

Use Media Player Classic for ALL media. It's just better than VLC. Bette navigation, just F5 for screenshot and so on.

I love it.

And it has a really nice feature that allows you to have it on top while playing, so that you can chat with a friend during and episode, but if he gives you a link, you just pause it and go straight on to the link. Noe need to minimize or anything. And, you can just hit the picture to pause/play.

If you're using windows media player, you can hit "ctrl + i" and it'll save the screen as a jpg

You might have to open WMP and then go to Tools>Options>Performance Tab and then Advanced. Then UNCHECK Use Overlays...

This will enable the Print-Screen function 8)
