Default Rebuilding old cars - called?

Early-ish in New Top Gear, there was a feature on (IIRC) a Jag which had basically had all the original suspension, brakes and various other bits stripped out and replaced by modern versions, while the engine and other remaining mechanical bits were tweaked & tuned - but all the original look of the car was retained.

I think Hamster later had it done to an american car he bought and mentioned it on the show, having earlier done a feature on an unmodified one, which included trying to park in a garage-sized space.

What was it called? Or what company did it, is there a Wikipedia/other webpage on it, stuff like that? I want to reference it somewhere else, but these are fairly important details in the referencing images/smilies/smile.gif

You are basically modernizing the car with modern technology and mechanical bits.

Top Gear Season 4 Episode 6.

James May test drives a Jaguar XJS. He refers to it as "modernization."

restoration = restoring a vehicle to it's origional state.
resto-mod = restoring a vehicle while upgrading some components with modern technologies.

Ya, when you replace the parts it's a resto mod. But when it's pure restoration with origonal parts, it's just a restoration.
