Relief for Top Gear deprivation syndrome

If you are suffering from Top Gear deprivation syndrome now that Series 14 has concluded, I have some good news!

Some of you may remember our previous effort in which we took on Top Gear and tackled the ever-elusive "Greatest Driving Road" quest in our native California.

Well, it's no Top Gear, but my friends and I shot another short car-related film up in Tahoe a couple weeks ago and will be bringing it to the internets soon.

The concept? A subject I determined Top Gear have never themselves directly covered: between 4x4, AWD and, uhm, neither... which is the best for the snow?

    FULL RELEASE IS LIVE NOW!

follow this link to view in 720p high def:

The finished product should be ready soon enough to fill the gap while we're all waiting for Series 15!

Looks like a good substitute until TG season 15. Well done, I look forward to seeing the finished video.

I really wish I could pull off something like this. Alas, my friends are always almost as broke as I am.

And if you're suited up and you look like a million bucks and you look like a success, you'll be the guy that gets tapped to sit with the chairman. If you are suffering from Top Gear deprivation syndrome...
Please hurry. TGDS is horrible. The anxiety! The depression! The headaches! The insomnia! The tremors! Even re-watching series 10 has hardly any effect!

I used to go to supercar dealer showrooms. That helped a little. But then the dealers ganged up and got a class-action restraining order against me.

Now I'm stalking the Top Gear presenters with Google. I've got three Firefox tabs open and wrote a Greasemonkey script to search their names once a second. A few times a day there's something new. A few times a day I'm happy again. A few times a day.

    Please hurry.

Sounds really cool... i'm a firm believe that 4x4's are not necessary for snow, unless you have somewhat steep terrain. But a good set of winter tires and knowing how to handle your vehicle is all that is really needed. People gasp and say i'm crazy driving my Z in the snow. I think people who think a 4x4 is needed just isn't confident with their skills in handling a vehicle on snow.

I'll be waiting for your presentation, I really liked your first one and thought it was good. For some constructive criticism though I think the audio needed work, and in my opinion it feels you guys were trying too hard to look like you were having fun, but over all you all seem to get along and have a purpose and I liked what I saw.

GL with the editing... take your time, you can tell when someone doesn't put time and care into their editing.

Soon. This will not be as long as our previous effort. We only shot for one day and are anticipating a 10 minute run length, so hopefully there will be a final product within a month or so.

Thanks! You're right about the audio. We've known all along that audio was a weak point. Unfortunately, I'm not sure this one will be any better, especially since we were experimenting around with some new cameras that may have given us some awesome footage but less-than-perfect audio. It's just part of the nature of not working with fully professional equipment but we'll do our best to clean everything up.

holy crap, this took way longer than it should have.

we are doing the final export now and the upload should go live at some point tomorrow. it should be ready just in time to get everyone going in the run-up to the series 15 premiere!
