Having watched the entire series again, I'm not so sure it was a poor series. Sure SIARPC is getting a bit tired, but skipping that bit of the show (think of it as a commercial break you'd get in most 1hr programmes), the majority of the remaining features were enjoyable.
I'm going to say E4 was the best, but they were all pretty good. Nice to see a good mixture of tests and challenges, and more importantly than that to see plenty of tests happening away from the TG track. Tests look so much better with spectacular scenery in the background (AMG Black, Audi RS6) rather than a flat Surrey airfield. More of them please. |

Episode 6 was the best as - IMHO - it was the most complete. Near perfect balance of serious car related stuff + cocking about, a little bit scripted for humourous effect but not too much and the whole show flowed well. The best bit was that the SIARPC was back to the classic single-star format, and the star in question actually showed a bit of proper enthusiasm.
Episode 4 was close behind, but that would have been better as a dedicated special in the vein of 9x03 and 10x04. The race + production values of 11x04 were both amazing and by not making it a special I don't think it did the Japan race enough justice.

I have to say that 4 was the best. 6 felt too forced.

I know I'm in the minority, but I really loved Episode 3, the Alfa Challenge.
