Default Series review anyone?

I thought this series wasn't quite as good as top gear used to be.. sure it had it's high moments like the CCX, the Z06 and the amfiblabla(yes i can't spell it), but I think most of the segments felt a bit like they were too scripted with a bit of bad acting thrown in there. Like the end of the people carrier convertible and the end of the caravan vacation thing.. Am i making sense here? images/smilies/wacko.gif Anyway.. What's your oppinion???

All you need to do is browse the Top Gear episode discussions forum, and you'll see plenty of chatter on that very subject.

They had a lot of challenges, and not enough James May.

I'd gladly trade building a Caterham for a Brera review.

It was pretty good, but I was let down by the small number of cool new cars tested. I thought TG was going to test the S7TT, since there were rumors about a model being shipped over there, but nope. I thought for sure the new 911 Turbo was going to get a proper segment on the show, but nope. And there were no great cross-europe races either.

I quite agree images/smilies/smile.gif

The "toybota/dampervan/sailcar" was great, but the other "challenges" they had i felt where a bit rushed togheter, and with a bit too much scripting it all felt a bit "strained". Previous seasons seemed to me a bit less scripted and more "natural", and that made it all more funny to me atleast....

Perhaps its time for a bit of a format change, or they might just need their summer break to get back on previous form. Top Gear is still the best motoring show for me, even though its the funny bits and not the motoring bits that i enjoy the most images/smilies/tongue.gif

I'd agree it's been a bit of a letdown, but I guess maybe there wasn't enough decent cars to review? I doubt that though. Hopefully Season 9 is more oldskool, so to speak

may i suggest this thread becomes a poll??
and i really didn't like this season images/smilies/thumbdown.gif there were too many episodes that after watching i was just so disappointed. TG are very good, but they're not up to their usual standard.
and also i think the format change wasn't a good thing. before, TG looked like a bunch of yobs who quickly took over some airport to do some wild oversteer stuff. but now it looks too organised, like they pre-arranged everything and put all these fancy stands and things. the format has grown up, and i really don't like it.
