| I hope that Jeremy will be on internet this week and maybe will read this thread ![]() Or maybe someone else from Top Gear team will read this. But anyway. I want to suggest a Russian Special - a trip to Russia where guys are taking journey from Saint Petersburg via Moscow to Sochi - the host of Winter Olympics 2014. I suppose it would be interesting episode just like an American Special, where guys bought used American cars and took a ride through southern states. Yeah, that is one of most remarkable episode in all series ever, in my humble opinion of course Yep, and I think that cars on this journey should be Russian (old or new one - doesn't matter - they are all 'funny' and garbage). Just imagine Jezza, Richard and James driving through European part of Russia (we in Russia believe that there is such part ) in Lada Riva aka 2105, Moskvich 2141 aka Aleko and Volga 24. The first by the way is still in production in Russia without any changes, although it's already a 40 years old model. And Volga is still in production too, although it had a lot of face-lifts. What do you think guys? I suppose it's very interesting to watch such episode, because Russia is kinda exotic place, even for some of us who live here for all their life. And you will see some changes and Russians wannabe of European and especially American style of life with it's enormous SUVs, luxury cars etc. Maybe only China can compete with Russia in such questions. And there are a lot of things to see - the beauty of old city in Saint Petersburg, the contrast of Moscow, the bad condition of highway and the beauty of Russian girls of course And many more of course. And I want to mention that there are a lot of Top Gear fans here, and every petrol head who slightly knows English watches the show via BBC or internet. Jeremy, Richard and James - you are very loved here, to be honest I know that you and your team have a very tight schedule, but maybe not this year but the next one you can film an episode here? And about filming - I think that we can help you with filming. We can solve a lot of questions with visas and all other bullshit which Russia has, and we can of course help you here with security and other daily problems, if you will come here. And guys, thank you for your show! It's the best! Thank you Jeremy, Richard, James, Stig and Andy! And all the team! Last edited by firun; July 30th, 2008 at 08:01 AM.. | |

| Sounds like a good idea but i hope they won't come here ever. I just don't want to be ashamed when they show all there is to show about Russia on Top Gear.

| @ViperVX You know, it would be pretty funny, but the most fun of Russia is made here by us, and not by foreigners. The polonium case, the Georgia problem etc - that's all stupidity that people are laughing about is made by our government. Maybe it's a strange point of view for public officer like me, who works at Saint Petersburg Administration, but anyway. Last edited by firun; July 30th, 2008 at 08:25 AM.. | |

Rep Power: 2 ![]() | You should send this as an suggestion to Andy Wilman, I'm sure he'll like it, hah. It would be a rather cool challenge though and I really, REALLY want another big Top Gear special, in the same class as the specials they've done before. |

| @anti-net Nah, if there would be some funny polonium we can cure it with vodka Like anything else. @Maarre I would really like to contact with Andy Wilman about it, but unfortunately I don't have his contact. And I don't think that he would like to talk to person who is not familiar with TV, even with Russian. | |

I guess they would buy some cheap cars and try to make it across Russia, right? I'm not familiar with Russian cars, but I am familiar with Tatra (a local car museum has several). Sure, that's a Czech car, but would it count? |

Tatra counts of course - because Czech Republic was communistic that time. But there a lot of other soviet cars.

I would like to recommend some soviet/russian cars. I suppose they are better suitable for Russia, due to a big amount of repair parts and services which are here in Russia.

| I think logically, this would be the next place to have a special. That's without this suggestion. With the suggestion, I think it's a great idea.

But honestly, the jams in Moscow and Petersburg are large, but we somehow manage with 'em. Like Londoners and other people And just remember Japan Special with their frights of Tokyo jams and the empty roads there.

Rep Power: 19 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | If it weren´t to late this year, they could visit the St. Petersburg white nights while there ... I quite like the Idea ... especially with some old Eastern Bloc cars, but I´d hate it to be in winter ... they should definetly go in summer.
