I'm just wondering... how many times a day do you think Jeremy mentions Terry Wogan's name? There's no way of knowing but I'm guessing it's probably in excess of 79.
Is he in love with him or something?

Who DOESN'T love Wogan? Don't you remember this quote:Originally Posted by Shawn_230

If Top Gear wants to really pull out a plot twist, they'll announce that Clarkson is actually Terry Wogan's illegitimate son.![]()

That's so something TG would do nowadays... it's too gimmicky sometimes.
But fine, even if Wogan is admirable and worthy of looking up to, he still uses his name too much. It's like how they used to tell us in highschool that you should never use one word too many times in a paragraph/essay.
50OT - hey where you been Shawn??
I've been on summer holidays... I had such a fantastic time I never got to coming to this site again. I just relaxed, smoked, drank, traveled... but now school's back so I have more free time (time that I should be studying). I got some pictures for the sightings thread... I'll get to posting them one of these days.
P.S. It's funny because I remember during our winter here (when Salar posted those super cloudy/dark pics) I asked why you were always inside during the summer. So I was true to my word and stayed off the web for the summer. I have no fucking clue why I had to tell you that...
50Good to hear, see ya round![]()
Oh, also, I started going back to the forum I used to go to before I joined here. I think I'm in the top-ten list in terms of posts (which is kind of gay...) but when I went back this summer a few times they got mad and banned me... they're so strict it's not even constitutional. Check them out... they're super geeky and almost all North Americans... it's cool that Top Gear has fans all over the world so this forum can work with people from all over the world.
0I don't see what the big deal is with Terry Wogan. Why doesn't Johnathon Ross get such a following instead?
I think wogans show is the most popular in britain or something like that.
Who?
Beacuse Terry Wogan is a legend. I think he is banned from Copenhagen for insulting them so much during the Eurovision Song Contest![]()
"Slow and steady wins the race...nobody's going to die in this car I promise you that."![]()
Altough I only know Terry Wogan from his appearance on Top Gear, he definitely was one of my favourite stars in a reasonably priced car yet (also see signature!)![]()

0Shawn - you never drove to work listening to Terry Wogan in the morning, did you?

I live in North America...![]()
Sir Terry Wogans morning radio show is the biggest in the uk, by some way. He's been a household name for decades. In short, he is a legend!

I obviously read up on him before I posted this. Granted he's a legend, it still doesn't mean Jeremy should use his name so many times. I don't walk around comparing everything to Woodrow Wilson.

Man, Wilson should get more props. I think Roosevelt kinda stole his thunder by being an even more badass World War president and helping to lead up to the UN, which upstaged Wilson helping with the League of Nations.Originally Posted by Shawn_230
As to the acutal topic of the thread, the only time other than Top Gear that I have heard Wogan referenced is Franz Ferdinand ("So I'm on BBC2 now, telling Terry Wogan how I made it; What I made is unclear, but his deference is and his laughter is; My words and smile are so easy now"), and the only reason I recognized that is because of the TG appearance, and Clarkson's constant references.
