Default TGUKGLM is back with ... Show Me The Mags!

Hi All,

I've thought up a fiendish contest for you all to have a go at :

- Post a picture on this thread of you reading TG Mag in a weird and wonderful location. Doesn't have to be far away, just somewhere unusual, interesting or funny. Best picture in my opinion wins.

Rules :

- No porn / nudity / swearing
- No massive files, it must fit with the Final Gear rules
- Special bonus if it's a non-UK edition of the mag
- Special bonus for a pic including a celebrity
- Contest runs until August 31st (to give you a chance to take pics on your summer holidays)
- No 'special pleading' PMs

This is not an official BBC contest, the usual disclaimers - it's just a bit of fun. I'll decide the winner..

Prize? A TG Mag goodie bag which may or may not include Ferrari soundcards, mouse mats, cool wall magnets and any other crap I've got in my cupboard.

Good luck!

Just one thing TGUKGLM, i know it's your idea, but wouldn't it be more fun to make it a poll at the end and everyone chooses the best. Maybe you could just select a few of the best to then make the poll.

Just a thought 8)

Perhaps that would be better ... but I wanted to try and capture a 'Top Gear feel' so in true Jeremy fashion I'm going to decide and whatever I decide will be right.

Good suggestion though. images/smilies/smile.gif

How about you can use a sign with Top Gear wrote on it but only if you live in a country where the magazine is not available. Just a little suggestion so no one is left out.

Nope, has to be copies of the magazine only. If you don't have a local edition, you need to buy a copy of the UK mag from your local airport or international bookstore.

It's available in most countries .... images/smilies/smile.gif

I've never seen one,but then again I never looked for one really...
If I get one I'm gonna take it to where Jesus first walked on water, put it on a small piece of wood and make it the second thing to walk on water there haha.

Heh, good idea, but I fear the mag may slowly disintegrate underwater, ruining your local swimming pool's drainage system.

As to the question - you can get disposable underwater cameras for around £8 a pop...I got mine from a larger Boots store [UK only, I guess]. Or you can get a cover for your normal camera. I've got that too - one of these, the 'compact camera case' one. Served my digicam and mobile nicely on a kayaking expedition.

I am already thinking up ideas, though no strokes of brilliance yet...

edit - what does the GL in your name stand for, TGUKGLM? I can guess the rest is "Top Gear UK something something Magazine"...

good, I've been wanting an excuse to go 100 miles to my nearest Borders to pick up a Top Gear issue.

And I know I haven't been here for a while, but wouldn't this be a good sticky?
Just a suggestion
