But they (if this forumite really is the factory, which is quite likely on Pistonheads) claim that the driver has extensive experience of Dunsfold (with a nudge and a wink?)

I noticed that one of the identified drivers in the Top Gear Britcar endurance race pit (Phil Keen) had a similar helmet to the driver of the Ultima, and lo:

and even he doesn't outright say "look it's me in the Ultima".

So maybe Phil Keen should go on the list.

Indeed, but you know I seriously doubt they get the highly skilled racing driver(s) that is 'Stig' to stand around in a white racing suit during the studio segments. That would be an extra or the tea boy. images/smilies/smile.gif

Don't get me wrong, my position is that The Stig is probably played by numerous drivers.
It's interesting that the Ascari tops the leader board too as both Collins and Keen have driven them professionally.

I thought he already was. He was signed on as one of the Stigs at the Britcar 24 anyway. Though he didn't drive for TG, he was also driving a Mosler.
