Builder Jason Goody, 21, who recently did some work for The Stig, said: “We were there for two days and we were working all over the house so we got to see quite a bit of it. It has all the mod cons – underfloor heating, plasma screens.

“There were pictures of him doing stunts for the new James Bond film.”

Jason and his co-workers, who live and work in Bristol, also met the man himself.

He added: “When we eventually met him he was a bit sheepish at first but he couldn’t really deny it once we’d seen what we’d seen.”

The Daily Star knows The Stig’s identity but is keeping it secret.

yeah right, if i believed that then i'd also believe that UFO's have been hitting our wind turbines and that Celebrity Big Brother is quality dramatic viewing.

Who else thinks its some Sad-Act who every day pretends to be the Stig and has even converted his home so theres everything stig, and his wardrobe is just white racing overalls. I mean there is a guy in the UK who was sad enough to convert his home into the Starship Enterprise, and live out the life of the captain. So its entirely possible!

So is the daily star like Weekly World News, just with celebrities? It looks like somebody just sat down at the computer and just made up a random "fact" than wrote a paragraph around that made up "fact" and threw some popular names in to get hits. What's next a story from John Henderson a plumber who worked on Simon Cowell's plumbing that claims Simon counted to infinity... twice? John's helper also heard Simon do it, therefore it has to be true.
