I can see why Americans hate Jeremy so much. We're all too hyper-sensitive about criticisms. (You can assume this is true when you see obese elephants and hippos walking around like they are normal human beings. Tell them they're fat and you're the criminal. An American doctor may get banned from practice because he told a female patient that most males prefer slim women.)

Has anybody seen the "Revved Up" DVD? On an outtake, James reads the news and proclaims "In today's news, Jeremy Clarkson is officially an arse." Jeremy laughs so hard that he stumbles to get on the platform! He has so strong of a personality that nothing can stop him.

I love Jeremy to death because he is who he is. I personally have a huge ego and bash my friends all the time. They love it because they get a bit of criticism but with a twist of sarcastic humour. With the way I act, I either have enemies or friends--nothing in between. I think it's the same with Jeremy since he has an even more bold character than me!

This proves that Americans are too much of a pussy to tolerate Clarkson. That's too bad because it proved my exact point when I initially posted my opinion on the first TG America topic here. Have all American men lost their balls to this universal pussification???

... and to think that our boys spent a week in Dunsfold redoing some of the shows for the US market. It's so not going to be the same for you guys. Commiserations.

Still, at least you know where to go for the one, the only, the original TG.

I need not worry about these things, for I will watch Series 7! images/smilies/biggrin.gif Damn Discovery channel for ruining the episodes they cut & bunched together. People over here won't even notice Top Gear in it's glory now, comparing Jezza in the U.S.-Aired episodes, he has no enthusiasm at all. And on top of that there is a godly amount of commercials, rubbish.

Now how are they gonna explain that the new hosts aren't the ones driving the cars? images/smilies/thumbdown.gif

It will cost them more to make, because they'll have to film all the road tests twice, unless they still use the UK ones, then JC, RH and JM will still be on it. It will look a bit silly having an American presenter sitting in a studio in LA saying "now we have a report on the new Land Rover from our corrispondant in England, Jeremy Clarkson". It would just be a cheesy clip show.

Sounds good if they review cars sold in North America.

Great, it's going to be watered down for us. They'll probably throw in some rappers to appeal to our youth or something... images/smilies/rolleyes.gif images/smilies/wink.gif

I'm glad they stopped building those; if Clarkson was hosting it he'd have a field day with its even more boring replacement:

More fun than those horrid French subcompacts. Not much. Just a smidge.

Besides, I'd like to see someone take the bland cars sold here to task like only JC could.

Anyway, I hope this is not true. While I would like to see some North American cars reviewed, I also enjoy seeing the world renowned exotics, the beautiful cinematography, and of course the main crew's personalities.

I always thought they looked rather annoyed at having to do the American segments; maybe they decided the easiest thing to do is to franchise the show. Meh.

I think this is a great idea.

That way when the REAL Top Gear presenters do reviews they won't hold back for some idiotic Americans and the show won't be tainted. images/smilies/smile.gif

Well, I look at it this way. Most of us who can't actually view the UK shows on the tv can get them off of the internet in their truer, orginal and more interesting form. I have seen all the episodes with the exception of a few and watching them on the Discovery Channel is just a bland rerun, except all chopped up. I mean I've seen all the segments, what am I missing, the breif studio segments filmed for Americans? I think having all new hosts and new testing would be good because we would have something we've never seen before and who knows it might be really good, its all hypothetical now though. The hosts could be the only loss, I mean James, Richard and Jeremy have such great "chemistry" (I'll use that term) and they are friggin hilarious, and I would surely miss them, but its not like we can't get the UK shows. Of course it would be very stupid, pointless, and would make me angry if they used the tests and segments done by James, Richard and Jeremy and then just replaced them as hosts. But I think if they do their own road tests, etc it might have potential.

So, after all this speculation who do you think would make a good American host?

Jesse James kind of popped into my head.......

So the new American TG is going to be hosted by some guy named John, and possibly Xzibit, P.Diddy, and a hispanic girl for ethnic/gender balance.

And we'll finally get to see some saturns and the mercury grand marquis. Sounds excellent. images/smilies/mellow.gif

Will it have its own segments? If it DOES have its own segments and films then that'll be something to see. At least for a good laugh images/smilies/lol.gif

Of course, It'll all be watered down and EVERY car they'd review would be GREAT.

Exactly. If it ani't broke, don't fix it. It's good because of how it is, if you change it then it woun't be.
