Top Gear filming 31.01.07 *mini spoilers*

I went to yesterday's filming of Top Gear and far short of swearing it was freaking awesome!
They actually shot all of Sunday's episode, the intro's for the following week which is the USA special (as Jezza and Richard are in South Africa for MPH 07) and the Star in a car segment for the week after that, as i reckon poor stig needs a rest after his long flight home from Johannesburg. Hugh Grant is this weeks star, and James drives the Veyron, It was in the studio and was beautiful, owed by a private owner in London. They do the public information film, driving a train into a Renault Espace, and they all go to Scotland to (try to) play golf and argue about cars- no surprise there then. Loads more happened but I can't tell you. Jezza swears like a trouper and god knows how Andy Wilman manages to edit all that out and yet make it seamless, as they didn't do that many pick ups (re-takes). It just takes your breath away and was quite possibly one of the best days of my life. Bizarre but true. A total riot from start to finish.

Thanks for sharing... I've been meaning to ask if anyone here on the board has been to a live taping. You'll have to try to spot yourself as there will likely be a lot of cut aways of the audience to cover up all his swearing

Seems like if they got all the taping for this and next week done already, next week really will just be USA special and nothing else, no car reviews nada. That just sounds really boring and long to me.

So how long was the wait list for tickets to attend the filming, was it close to 19 years like they claimed? No seriously i want to know how long it took for you to get into a studio audience.

That's awesome, I always thought being in the audience would mean a lot of waiting and being bored and watching re takes.

I was invited by a friend, but i know the waiting list is nearly 3 years (so Applause Store told me a couple of weeks back). We got there at 1.30pm and had a few bevvies, walked into the hangar just after 2.30pm, filming started around 3pm and left afterwards about 7.15pm. It is a long day and there's nowhere to sit unless you manage to grab the stage at tea break time. But Jeremy talks inbetween each filmed segment and keeps the audience happy (which is really good of him).
I don't think i am in this Sundays or next weeks intro but deffo in the Simon Pegg star segment for episode 4. I was just to Jezza's left.
You gotta get your name down for tickets guys. It was fantastic.

Gawd, not telling you! ha! The embarrassment would be too much to bear...
After driving for nearly 5 hours and then standing about for 5 more, you forget that you may not look as pristine as you did when you left that morning.

I wasn't falling asleep! just a bit, shall i say "worn in" after a long day haha. I did heckle May, me and a mate shouted "hairspray for Mr May!" when they were with the Veyron.

come on, tell us what were you wearing, atleast give us a hint! theres nothing to be embarrassed of, it's a good thing to put all those good look stereotypes down for a minute! anyway, i'm not pressing for it, whatever your response is you should just always remember there are lots of people who'd be happy to see a fellow forum member and they'll be in no way concerned about his/her looks (in a good meaning)!
