Default Top Gear filming in America and dinner w/ James

According to Jezza's latest column all three of the presenters have been in America filming for 3 weeks.

Quote:
is there anything in life quite so satisfying in life as a group hangover. A solo hangover is no fun at all. You crawl out of bed, having to keep your head held high as you search for headche pills, because you know if you look down you will vomit on them.

then when you get downstairs, you are faced with a cheery wife and children who are either cheery or in a bad mood about puberty or something.

Neither is something you want when you feel like you have got a dagger stuck in the back of your head and it feels like you could be sick at any moment.

I hate having hangovers on my own. but coming downstairs to find mates who are also suffering well, thats brilliant. It's not like group toothache or group cancer. It is ,in fact, the recipe for the best morning of your life.

If I were to list it in the top ten biggest laughs i've ever had, one was on a golf course in cheshire-giggling at the idiots in pringle until i thought i was about to explode- but all the other nine were with mates after we'd had what politicians call an evening of bingedrinking. But what i would call a skinfull.

Someone is always sick, and that's funny. Someone is always incaple of speech or movement, and that's funny too.Doubly so when the person who is sick chucks up on the person who can neither speak or move.

then you have the sheer joy of reliving the momnents that got you into this state. and the hilaious discovery of UIDs-unidentified drinking injuries- like bruises and grazes. This is when one of you mates dis coveries he has a hitherio missing arm, and that's bloody hysterical.

I watched all this unfurl earier this week after celebrating the end of a three week shoot in America

Over breakfast there was much hilarity as everyone rembered how polite James was as he tried to stick a 20 dollar bill in the knickers of a new-orleans lap dancer.

And how one of the camera assistants spent the night on his back, in the street because he couldn't walk another yard. And whether it was a good idea to have bacon and eggs for breakfast. Or a Brandy.

And me ? well i was as miserable as sin because i was discovering the worst thing in the world is to have a hangover whilst everyone else has a monster.

you see, i'd gone to bed early the night before. I'd had eight hours sleep . I felt fine. And that was horrible. Listening to all the pain. Watching Ricahrd Hammond eyeing up which bin to be sick in.. seeing a director being utterly defeated by a revolving door. I wanted to be part of that. This is something that poiticians just don't seem to get. Life should be a laugh.
And it isn't very funny when all you mates have a good time . And you've spent the previous night in bed reading the ingrediants on a complimentary bottle of shampoo.
My hands ache from tying that up, I couldn't find it on the sun website

Plus in James' column you can win dinner with him!

Indeed, it is... There were loopholes in some states, but I think those are all largely closed. Not 100% sure though, I turned 21 years ago... images/smilies/smile.gif

It's all in TheSun.co.uk archive but you have to pay. I think on the actual day the paper is published you can read the articles free. If I remember I'll check next Saturday.
