If (when?) Top Gear did an Aussie special and drove Australian cars (they already love the Monaro, or GTO for you yankees) then SBS is only 2 seasons behind, we'd be able to see it on TV in 2009!

I'd love to see Clarkson taking the piss out of us Aussies, see if we can take it, unlike the Americans.

Get him in an F6 Typhoon. Or even dust off that 427 Monaro.

The only problem with doing an Aussie special with our cars is that they've only really got two choices - Commodore or Falcon (incl. their derivatives). It's not like America where there's an enormous range of locally designed cars.

Don't really cut it as 'Australian' cars - they're based off Japanese vehicles, albeit with local engineering work (but nowhere near the extent of Falcon & Commodore). If you're talking genuinely Australian cars, there's only the Commodore or Falcon.

Commodore / Falcon utes, still the same base vehicle underneath. My point was it's not like America where the Camaro, Caddy & the pick-up had nothing whatsoever to do with one another and were completely different vehicles.

In Italy it aires on BBC prime with italian subtitles and the versions are the same of the original. I think there's a torrent with one episode.
BUT, it aires also on discovery channel and it's awful. It's translated so you lost the original Jeremy voice images/smilies/blink.gif and all the rest. You laugh just a little.BTW, of course, you can switch from Italian to English.
