Top Gear Show/Site Suggestions - Page 5

!! HUGE POST, beware modempeople

Anyways, nice post this. But I came across that calendar, and I reacted
the same way as most of you did. It sort of lacks some of that
punchy feel of the TopGear images as we see them in the episodes.

So I thought I'd make some edit's of them and see if people like the
style of it better, because these pictures provide a good base for
something that has potential.

Here are my tweaks: (PS: you might want to compare them to the
originals from this post http://forum.finalgear.com/viewtopic.php?t=640&start=0)

MAY

- Made it a bit darker, removed crew in reflection, tweaked the contrast and so on...

JULY

-Hard one this to, MAY and JULY was quite boring, but I just sharpened up
Hamsters face and removed the colors on everything except his skin
and shirt. Also tweaked contrast + color balance.

JULY #2

-Great shot this, so all I did was juice it up! Nuff said.

AUGUST

- Good shot but quite flat in lighting so hard to tweak. But I gave it some
more spark, sharper cars, darker skies and so on...

SEPTEMBER

- Very plain shot of C6 given punch and more melancholic colors ++

OCTOBER

- Removed that faulty white balance and gave it a rough style with grain
and less colors +

NOVEMBER

- I did much on this photo, to much to say really. Some motion blur,
different colors and contrast adjustments all around basically sums it up.

DECEMBER

- Flat colors and contrast given life sort of. I can't be bothered to mention
all I've done...

So that's that!
Did I manage to capture more of that TopGear feel or am I totally lost?

Hanastand, I don't like any of them except November.

Looks like you used some kind of filter on all of them or too much contrast and the color balance is off, plus noise seems worse than on the originals..

Hey Renesis, I dont get you at all. How can you not like the GT40 photo? Compared to the original I mean?

Quick edit of 5 min on the original by me

Hanastand's style is very good, but not for a wallpaper, the car needs more color. His is more artistic though.

I like what he's done, but he should use more saturation on the car as his effect works well on the background only but not on a landscape like December where the pic loses all it's appeal

Hanasand's style would be good for the original images, but these highly compressed JPEGs don't work quite as well. I must say that the main improvement that these images need is to get rid of the horrible border and have the image filling the screen.

your design isn't a fucking calender, it's dumb just like those girls calender, they just put microscopic numbers with a huge pic of a girl, it's great but useless...

all numbers are in a line with no sence of which date is a monday or friday...
