Default Top gear track animation

Just made a similar animation to the one that's online already except I used the TG track map found on google maps.

Let me know what you think and if its correct (first of all).

The animation at hammerhead is really fast, I should slow that part down or something, because it's not just turning directly there.

This is a great animation for newbies wondering what the pattern around the track is like. As for getting the lines correct... I don't think that will be really worth all the time and effort you'd have to put in to get it right.

It's great as it.

Thanks man. I just added in the lines (took less than 2 minutes really). I still have the old one for reference sake, but yeah there it is. Note that the red dot may not follow the blue line EXACTLY.

Does anyone know why they ditched the power lap format of Season 1? It used to show an animation as Black Stig went round, it was pretty cool really.

The TG logo? Sure! I could do it in like 5 seconds, but in the same time I could also fall into my bed. I'm going to choose the latter for now because I'm dead tired. I'll do it in a few hours.

Thanks for the comments, all of you images/smilies/biggrin.gif.

Don't quote me, but I imagine it was simply because it was very confusing and cluttered up the screen. I agree, it was cool, but I also found it distracted from the footage and wasn't necessary at all.

It's really too fast for me to understand the track. Maybe slow it down? And yeah I don't care much about the line through the corners, that's TOO much work and it's variable anyway, depending on things like dead squirrels on the track etc...

Well, thank you for pointing the track out images/smilies/smile.gif

I'm a long time TG fan, but I never really got the track layout.

Can I also point out that the start line is slightly too far to the right.

Sorry.

nice work, although the lines in the in-field (after the first corner and follow-through) should be switched. Remember, after hammerhead it's nearly flat-out until the second to last corner.

and there is no way they take followthrough that sharply, i assume they use most or all of the runway.

Thanks everyone for your input! I updated it (once more) and made it a bit slower, and tried to modify according to all the instructions you guys provided. Please forgive the very slight mistakes in the track line as its sometimes hard to maintain continuity with the pen tool, and also because I have class in like 15 minutes so I couldn't spend TOO much time with it. I've made it slower, and made the lines more accurate (meaning more like the lines the stig would use). The red dot WILL NOT follow the blue lines EXACTLY. The red dot is there to show which general path is used while the blue lines indicate the true path of a lap.

Hopefully the newbies will understand it better.

Also btw, thats a tire at Chicago (indicating the tire wall). If the red dot touches the tire wall or overlaps it, its purely by chance and is a mistake that should be disregarded.

Thanks everyone who also gave me +rep, I truly appreciate it images/smilies/smile.gif
