Hello everyone,

Just wondering if anyone knows if I can see this episode air on TV. I live near Toronto, Ontario in Canada.

I have Rogers digital cable, bell expressvu satellite, and DISHnet satellite.

Thanks images/smilies/biggrin.gif

I am referring to the episode airing on July 25th. It would be nice to watch it at the same time everyone else does, without waiting 1-2 days to download it off torrents.

Woo! Another great reason to live in the UK. There are more bad reasons though. Like the wonderful summer weather we had today. It flooded London.

Beautiful weather here in southern Ontario, around 80 degrees, no humidity, not a cloud in the sky!

I disagree, it's raining quite a bit these few days, but most other days its like that. But when there is humidity, it turns into smog images/smilies/wacko.gif

CBC airs the newest series of Doctor Who. Therefore, they should show Top Gear.

I know that's terrible logic, but it's the best I have.

I doubt BBC Canada will air it. They usually have crummy old re-runs of everything.

Exactly the same for me. Maybe it depends where in the world you are? Maybe they're on a 200kb/s connection?

Two days?? What kind of crappy connection do you have? It usually only takes me a couple of hours. I just tested my connection at www.speedtest.net, and it reports 2223 kbps down / 355 kpbs up

It's likely that ando is using Rogers as his ISP. They throttle torrents severely. I can get ~3000 kbps downstream if I use Speedtest, but I would never try to use a torrent here.

Ah, that's probably it. Dang Rogers and their monopolistic refusal to obey common carrier laws images/smilies/mad.gif

Try using protocol encryption; sometimes that helps.

I'm using a 5 mb/sec down, 880 kb/sec up.

It's not that I don't have the speed to download them, but they usually aren't available right away. If it airs on Wednesday in the UK, it will not be available for me to download until Early Thursday morning, and then I will have to download before work and see it at the earliest when I get home from work on Thursday images/smilies/sad.gif

So I have to wait atleast 1 day

Oh, and I'm not on Rogers...They screwed all their customers several years ago and I've been on DSL ever since.

Sounds like typical Rogers service. Your lucky to have DSL in your area since Bell is so slow at expanding.

Yeah, I had to wait a little while to get DSL, but its worth it. The issue in Ontario is that Rogers has a monopoly on cable service, so they can charge whatever they want and treat their customers however they want because like you said, many people cannot choose to go the DSL route.

(If and) when you do get DSL in your area, don't get Bell....they are more expensive and have lower service speeds. Go with a smaller company, they try to please customers since they actually want your business.

Which companies, cuz Bell does suck. I get about 120 Kb/s down
