Default What ever happened to the Americanized TOP GEAR clone?

Has any news been released on whether or not the US version will be picked up by The Discovery Channel or even SPEED?

No sir, not yet. There is a thread in this forum that is focused on US TG, you should bang out a search for it and keep an eye on that thread. Any news will be posted there. images/smilies/thumbsup.gif

I saw the RX-8 episode on the discovery channel about a month ago, no word on whether they are keeping it. As it isnt on their shows list on their website i would assume not though.

Too Bad then i wouldn't have to download it.

New to the forum so Hello all

To add some more to this. The Discovery Channel is adding a new channel called Tubro

Here's a link to the story.

Discovery Revs Up for Turbo
http://www.mediaweek.com/mw/news/rec..._id=1002539001

And here's the key paragraph to think about in the story.

A third Turbo-branded element, a new programming block set to bow on TLC in December, will be populated by a new season of American Chopper, which is moving over to TLC after three seasons on Discovery Channel. The block will also feature season four of the vehicle-makeover show Overhaulin’ and a third new series to be announced at a later date

Just something to think about.

I think Captain Planet means he saw the RX-8 segment from Top Gear UK, chopped and edited, on Discovery. They have yet release anything that would indicate Top Gear US is still a "go".
