I bought Top Gear magazine for the first time today - it's a big old tome isn't it? I bought it mainly for the articles written by Jeremy and James regarding Richard's accident. Sadly, James does not go into detail about how Richard managed to pick a fight with six U.S. marines.

Despite my love of four-wheeled, petrol-burning erotica, I'm not a car mag type, but this is certainly looks like the best place to start. The piece about the Mercedes McLaren 722 looks like filthy, disgusting porn, for which, I thank you. The Lamborghini Spyder isn't with out its dirt either.

So far, I've only read the bits written by Power! and James May, comic genius, but I'll get through the rest over the next week or three. There's also the freebie DVD too. Lovely.

Welcome to the club! Hope you enjoy the rest of the mag. There's also the topgear.com website, which has more of the same.

I bought the september 2006 issue a couple of days ago, unfortunately I haven't had the time to read much of it as I'm studying law (Includes a shedload of reading...) But when I get some time on my hands I'm looking forward to reading the 'XKR couast to coast' article, as well as what Jeremy thinks of it...

Ah yes - they had a great time making that piece, as you'll see from the photos.

And by the way; Who got it into his/her head that the Top Gear Space Shuttle thing was a sensible idea...?

I'd love to see Top Gear mag in the U.S. or Australia, where I am heading soon. I thought about subscribing and having it sent to me in the US but is it really almost $200(u.s) for a subscription?

Cheers!

Personally, I'd like to see Top Gear magazine in my letterbox, as I subscribed ages ago and still haven't received my first issue.

Top Gear magazine is available here. I generally pick up an issue from time to time if I happen to stop at the Barnes & Nobles. It is something like $100~120 US for a subscription.

I would like to see a polish TGM, or just the UK edition in Poland with a price that is within local buyers range. It is difficult to buy the UK TGM in here or subscribe from a local distribution company and the price is steep.
I know that part of the price is printing and distributing. Maybe printing it in Poland would cut the price down? I believe it would and I think I know printing shop well prepared to print TGM.

Another issue is translating articles into polish, well the tv TG is badly translated. You cannot believe what they do to the show. First they cut 15 minutes off and then they translate as they can. That is reason I switched to the bittorrent version of TV TG .
In Polish TV (especially TVN) it is common to make mistake while translating prime numbers and translate them as odd numbers. Many great shows was hindered by translation errors.
So before you start the polish edition (if ever that will happen) please check the quality of translation.

Ending, I think that Poland is great market for the TGM (38 million ppl), with huge cars demand new and used. For now we just buy what we can but maybe in near future we will buy what we like .

Jethro - can't say too much but keep your eyes peeled for news on the magazine in Poland very soon!

West - if you still haven't received your mag, send me a PM with your details and I'll investigate. I'm away for a few weeks now (at a TG Conference in India) but will follow up when I get back.

It's still our intention to do a local version of the mag in Oz sometime soon.

I believe you forgot Czech Republic, we have our Top Gear magazine as well.. But I'm quite sure, it doesn't contain all the pages. It's got around hundred or a bit more and it is on sale every two months.. Well, I would love to have it with more pages, every month. I still don't have enough Clarkson, May, Ford... And I ecpecially want the "I am the STIG" Tee-shirt..!

You can now get 'I Am The Stig' shirts via the official shop (see the thread elsewhere on this site).

We hope to have the Czech edition running monthly very soon.

Excellent news, however I'm currently in the UK (and will be for quite some time doing research, as usual) but I'll spread the word among my polish friends.

I still cannot believe how ridiculous it is to have a staff member of BBC TG mag as an active member of the forum that actively promotes...you know...bad things...

I guess this situation can be solved only one way....TOP GEAR DVD (or blu-ray) box sets for all!!!

Cheers!!!

How about Canada?

Our car magazines are pretty lame. At best.

Australia? I know we may be the sleeping giant of the south, but there are a lot of keen rev heads that would spend a couple of dollars on a great magazine. If New Zealand have the mag, i cant believe you left out the country that brought you the Holden/Vauxhall Monaro. (what did New Zealand ever give you guys? a whooping in the rugby and cricket) Australia- a great market to invest in.

I would promote croatia, but I think 10 people would buy it
or I could be wrong, allthough not everyone knows bout TG, people love a good car magazine. most of our magazines are crap! except a british mag (i think) that some guy took the courage to get the licence for and is issuing it on croatian!
weee
and i think it's going pretty good for them!

still, I want TG Mag
