why does jezza fear friendlymen w beards?

i was watching his top gear interview w roree bremner where they are on the subject of classic car rallying and jezza makes the point repeatedly about his disdain and fear of friendlyman w beard like some ppl are afraid of circus clowns or catholic priests. i know he was trying to make a joke but at the same time, his jokes are always based on his real opinions.

so whats up? was he molested by a motoring friendlyman as a young man or something? those type of guys seem pretty harmless to me.

I think he is referring to anoraks, who don't talk in models, but in chassisnumbers.

no that was referring to classic aston martin owners, thats separate from the rallyists with beards. that was part of the same interview tho.

over analyzing? relax man, its just a question on an internet forum, i think you might be reading too much into my question. i don't have a hidden agenda, i just never heard this 'friendlyman with beard' thing until i saw the show and figured its just another cultural thing i dont know much about.

he doesn't like bores of any kind, and further more he doesn't like manual labor. Classic car rally guys are bores who like manual labor (aka fixing cars)

Its good to keep in mind that most all automotive journalists already work around cars enough to fill really anybodies appetites, so unless you actually can express yourself in a interesting or entertaining way, then theirs no need to talk.
