Default Will Jeremy buy a ZR1 or a CTS-V before GM dies

Looks like GM might be dead by January. Will Jeremy get one of these awesome new machines? I don't think so, but it may be his last chance! If I knew it was my last chance to show up at one of the Queen's garden parties in a pair of chrome cowboy boots and chaps, I WOULD NOT! be able to pass up that opportunity. Here's hoping that Jeremy won't be able to pass up a one time experience like that either images/smilies/cool.gif!

No, it doesn't have a European badge on it and Clarkson thinks the world revolves around Europe. In Clarksons mind anything that isn't from a European company = rubbish. He is very close minded and set in his ways.

The GT was an acceptation thanks to it's racing history.

I would never buy a car with cheap plastic interior and cheap plastic bodyparts..
Neither would Jezza, I think.

You've left out the "I don't think GM will die" option.

I think its the opposite of what he believes about alfas. He would reccomend the GM cars; however, he would not buy one himself.

If GM goes under then I will be more than willing to admit that I was wrong, but I just can't see it happening.

I doubt Jeremy would ever buy a Corvette ZR1 or a Caddy CTS-V, but if GM were to get bought up by the Chinese, then buying one of the last true American classics might not be a bad investment.

But I think GM would sooner file bankruptcy and I doubt the courts would let the company get bought up by an international company from a communist country. Just my .02 cents.

I have my doubts on both issues. I think this whole "ZOMG, RUN FOR COVER, GM IS FALLING!!" is very much like how AT&T said the internet was going to "run out" in 2 years. GM may have to face massive changes, they may loose brands, but crucially i doubt they'll die and stop making Corvettes. They finally seem to have gotten smart with their cars, so why not their finances as well?

I was always a bit more of a Ford man anyways.

Given a choice, I *could* see him going for the Vette, but only if he surrendered his older Mercedes.

Neither the ZR-1 nor CTS-V have cheap plastic interiors. The Corvette has plastic exterior pieces for lightness. There is a reason Jeremy didn't bitch about these things in the American special, they didn't exist. Stop rehashing old Clarkson quotes like a robot.

Anyway, I doubt he will get either. He just bought a CLK, he won't be buying a new car weeks later.

Well, there's a definate difference between US and euro cars when it comes to interior (quality) most of the time, that's just how it is. If I remember the list of cars he had (which I know of, ofcourse) then you'll find that they all look good and they all have a nice interior.

May hinted at it after the video ended and they agreed on that. I don't think he'll be buying either car.
