Default Dealership photos

Just realized that instead of posting random photos all over the place from work I should just make a thread.

I have pictures on my phone, work comp, two different cameras and my home comp so I will need to track them all down.

I hope I can find the pictures of the Ferraris my Client let me drive.

First set are of the current rock display I set up the other day.

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w83/British_rover/rockdisplay11.jpg

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w83/British_rover/rockdisplay10.jpg

These photos are at almost full articulation. There is about an inch to an inch and a half of travel left.

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w83/British_rover/rockdisplay8.jpg

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w83/British_rover/rockdisplay6.jpg

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w83/British_rover/rockdisplay5.jpg

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w83/British_rover/rockdisplay4.jpg

This photo is right at maximum articulation. I would have to measure to see how much is actually left but the on board spotter/chassis diagnostic shows the suspension at maximum articulation.

Ooooohh natural lens flair

Also why 19 inch tires aren't such a good idea for rock crawlers.

Maroney label of a Westminster Range Rover. We have sold four of these cars since Dec 26th who says we are in an economic downturn.

Wow those pics came out much better then I thought they would considering the source.

I have to take the white one down now as our other sales guide sold it. images/smilies/dry.gif

Sucks cause it was a royal PITA to put it there as I had to dodge a large electrical box nestled between the boulders that powers all the lights for the display. Oh and it is raining and he can't take it down himself because he doesn't have my mad skills. images/smilies/mad.gif

Forgive the ignorance, but what kind of job is it that you do that involves both Ferraris and Discoverys?

Also, can i have you job images/smilies/love.gif

how come nobody makes fun of these for having big rims and costing so much?

these are like fancy but slim hummers. I like them but they cannot be the greatest off road, I mean they have smooth road tires...

The rims aren't too big compared to the body and they DO perform amazingly offroad. I sat in a Vogue recently and it felt like nothing else coming down a sand dune, and going up a rocky section it felt even more at home. They're sorted out these 4x4 so that they can properly perform when needed AND they can be used on road properly, that's why they cost so much

yeah, there's no doubt the suspension is great but overall I think they've become too full of luxury and bling

My local Land Rover and Jag dealership has one of these rock displays and I always thought it was awesome. But I was always curious if it hurt the suspension at all to let the cars sit articulated for long periods of time? Or do you take them down and put new ones up?

One of the new guys in the Rover club has a newer Range Rover and he brought it out to the thick mud we played in last month. Even with pure road tires we were all impressed with how well it did. So even though they might look soft they still have it where it counts. They're still The Best 4x4xFar.images/smilies/cool.gif

So...... can I bring my fathers Murano down and do a straight trade for a Rangey? He likes them and it would be nice to suprise him. images/smilies/wink.gif

I think he has talked to you on several occasions about getting one, but he says he can't justify it. So I tryed to put him in a Defender.

Better to own a Volvo, than be owned by one.
I work for Buick....... and it's not nearly as fun as it sounds.

No Jeeps allowed. Actually no non-Land Rovers allowed on the rock display or the off road demonstration course behind the dealership. Land Rover does quarterly secret shopper audits to check for things like that and uhhh well the one time we let a non-land rover on the demo course it got stuck. images/smilies/lol.gif

Oh and it was a H2. The chassis is so weak that it twisted up on the first obstacle causing the drive line to bind and pinching all the doors shut.

I sell Land Rovers and since many Land Rover and/or Range Rover buyers are very wealthy they have expensive toys. One client in particular is such a cool guy that he swings by with his Ferraris, yes he has multiple Ferraris, from time to time and lets us drive them.

True but you must remember these are Range Rovers which have historically tried to drive well on road and off. The original Classic Range Rover was designed to be better then anything off-road but also challenge contemporary saloon and estate cars on road. A classic Range Rover could hit a top speed of a 100 miles an hour and easily hold its own against the average passenger car of its day.

Then that same range rover could turn around and tow a piece of equipment out to a farm or carry a group of hunters out for an afternoon.

And it could do all that in a fair bit more luxury then the average vehicle.

Now Range Rovers have just evolved along with every other car. The average car is much more luxurious then in the past so the Range Rover needs to be even more luxurious. You can always fit more aggressive off-road tires if you see fit and most Range Rovers will take smaller 18 or 17 inch wheels so you get a wider selection of off-road tires.

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w83/British_rover/IMG_2388.jpg

Some tires like these for example.

Not a pic from my dealership but from a member of the range rover online forum I go to sometimes.

I rotate the cars from time to time. Its not so much the suspension that gets screwed up but the tires. The tires get flat spots from sitting on the rocks for too long.

He should think about a LR2. Towards the end of the year depending on the options I can probably sell you a demo/service loaner LR2 with less then 6,000 miles for under 30,000 USD.

I remember seeing photos of that old Series on here before. I had forgotten how good it looks. It's like it's brand new! I would love to see one of those out in the rough stuff. Did those mud flaps come off a semi truck? images/smilies/lol.gif They're huge!

The Defender is really nice as well. It's a real shame there aren't more of them in this country. One of the Rover club members has one and his is the first one I've seen up close and in person. I'm proud to say I've been recovered by a Defender. images/smilies/biggrin.gif

So do you get to drive these home and just bring them back the next day to work? Since your little box of info says you drive a different car every week.

Cool vid. images/smilies/cool.gif

But it always annoys me when I see videos like this and they say "un-modified" or "factory stock" "all original", etc. The SUV's in the video are top dollar, top of the line, off roaders. They have all the best equipment available in the aftermarket (for off road) already installed by the manufacturer.

If it were a bone stock Toyota Highlander or a Ford Escape, then I'd be impressed by that little fact. But not a fully equipped Land Rover or Range Rover. That's like going to the race track in a Ferrari 360CS and bragging about how "stock" it is. images/smilies/lol.gif
