Car: go kart Rep Power: 5 ![]() | Ok, maybe not the first in the Bay Area, but perhaps the first in San Jose Ca. While merging into freeway 280 from SJSU, I was about to overtake this truck, but something told me not too and look what I found, and lime green GTR, my first encounter with mr. godzilla in real life and it is rather smaller than I'd imagine. Sorry for the bird poo, i don't like my car much ![]() |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | o.o I have never seen anything worth above $60k in the last 2 years, since I started spending time in the Bay area. The most Ive seen is a 911 and ONCE and only once a Elise. Bay area sucks for car sightings. |

Just on 280 and 101, I've been passed by R8s, Murciellagos, LP640s, V8 Vantages, CGTs, 430s, 360s, 612s etc etc etc. You must just be in a shitty part of the bay area. Hell, I work in a MALL and I see a GTR at least one a week in the parking lot. I used to drive past 2 elises every day on the way to work. Now, I normally run into this awful white R8 with ORANGE sideblades on my way into work.

I feel your pain. I used to drive a base 2001 Dodge Stratus, and I once got a "Nice car!" from a stranger at a gas station there.

Rep Power: 4 ![]() ![]() | I saw a GTR back in November at Infineon. Some BMW club event. If you want to see some nice cars go down to downtown Walnut Creek on the weekend. Last time I was down there I saw a yellow Aston V8, a Ferrari F355 and a Dodge Viper ACR. There are at least two Carrera GTs in the bay area, that AWE one with the yellow rims and a standard black one that lives in SF. There's an Aston DB9 that lives out my direction, and a few Maserati GranTurismos. And I've also counted at least 5 different Ferrari F430s. I know of two Elises; one orange one by me and another red one. My Jim Russell school series had a guest driver with an Exige; in fact there were at least 3 or 4 Exiges at the track a few months ago. I've seen numerous Bentleys and Rolls Royces in San Fran, and a Bentley GT in Concord along with a blue Diablo. A couple years ago I used to see a Ferrari 360 every other week. There are TONS of cars in the Bay Area. Maybe y'all just don't look hard enough :p.

Another okay place is Santana Row in Santa Clara...although that's sort of hit or miss. There's a HOT Diablo SV that lives down there...

Downtown Palo Alto, University ave is where I saw my first GT3 RS, and Tesla Roaster tester...not a SUPER lot of action. There's a Vantage that parks in front of University Cafe a lot, and another one that's always in that parking lot at Bryant and University...and I think the guy who owns the ice cream shop by Borders has a 360 'vert. Also, in the Spago parking lot, there always used to be another DB9... If I heard right, there's a Veyron at a dealership in Los Gatos...never made it that far south, though, when I had any free time.

Rep Power: 4 ![]() ![]() | I was talking to a Bugatti man today (standing next to a Veyron) and he said they've sold 5 Veyrons in the Bay Area. I want to see them out and about. I'm keeping my eyes open.

Strangely, the Ferrari/Maserati dealership in redwood city, if I understood correctly, was one of the highest (if not THE highest) volume Ferrari dealers in the country.

Car: 2008 Acura TSX Rep Power: 6 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I'm somehow not surprised. My dad was curious about the quattroporte (he wasn't really interested in buying one, 1. because it is expensive for him, and 2. Driving 2 hours to get a service would be a pain) so he walked in.He talked to the salesman about the f430. Apparently there was over a year waiting list on it through the dealer. They also had a mighty fine MC 12 there, one thing that the Pasadena dealership did not have. Last edited by nouseferaname90; Today at 01:31 AM.. |
