My uncle came over the other day, i got a photo of his car...

He's awaiting a delivery of a Ferrari 599. I'll get a photo of that if he comes round in it.

^ I passed one of those (in yellow as well) going the other way in Solihull a couple of days ago. I was so shocked I nearly crashed into it.

Turns out one of my friends has a Gallardo and never told me...decided to tag along with one of our trips to show us bikers what a proper car can do...only to be destroyed on the highway by another biker that brought his Z06

Another friend has an awesome job working for a bike magazine, so he gets all the great machines before anyone else, case in point: the new Benelli Cafe Racer

Sorry about all the bike pictures, I just figure they count as at least half a car...

Damn, I wish I had a bike... or a bike license. How'd you go about getting your class 6 klutch? I've been thinking of getting my bike license for a few years now, never really felt up for doing any of the courses. Although I'd really rather take a course to learn to ride.

Do it, Shawn! You won't regret it, especially now that summer's here...

Go to an Autoplan place, get the Class 6 book, and read through it a few times. Since you already have your class 5, the test should be pretty easy, and its cheap. That'll get you your learners 6, and you can ride alongside someone else with their full class 6. If you want to speed things up (and go the recommended route) you can take the MSF course - they'll teach you the basics of riding over the 4 day course, on their bikes, and at the end, you'll have your full class 6.

The biking community in Vancouver is really good; there's tons of people out all the time, quite a few new riders constantly starting out, and an equal number of people willing to help them out and organize rides for beginners.

Cool, thanks for the info. The main thing that has been stopping me is that I have nobody to ride with once I get my permit. So going to a course is my only option. I heard Action was good, might give them a try. I'm gonna look around and see if someone wants to take the course with me.

How long have you been riding?

Since last July, minus the 4 months I was in Europe. Not very long, but I've put about 3 years worth of kilometers on the bike in the 7 months I've actually been riding it, trying to get as much experience as possible. Its hard to explain, but once you get into riding, its a total addiction, more so than any car could offer.

Action is good, and so is Pacific Riding School.

Don't worry about riding partners; you'll find tons, even just going through the school. If you need any other info, go to bcsportbikes.com, there's a ton of info there specific to the lower mainland.

I've been on bcsportbikes.com a bunch. Thanks, hopefully I'll be riding soon if I overcome my laziness and register in a course.

Getting a bike license will be the best decision you'll ever make, I've had mine for almost four years, and I'm loving it. As Klutch says, motorcycling is a addiction, a drug, nothing compares to it. A car, no matter witch one, doesn't even come close. Just do it, and do it NOW, so that you can ride as much as possible during the summer!

I'm thinking about the courses now. I was just gonna get a new car is all.

I get tempted by stuff like this once in a while. I think I'd enjoy a cruiser ride:

those are nice, but I think you would enjoy a sportier bike more. Not necessarely a R1 or a GSXR, but maybe a Honda VFR800 or a Honda Hornet (919). Those chrome sleds are very heavy and underpowered, they have wooden brakes and vibrate like hell..

Imporant; try many different bikes before you buy, sports-tourers and cruisers.
