![]() A friend passed this along asking to help identify what car this is, but I'm not entirely sure. It looks like some early 70s Japanese car, possibly a Galant or a Colt, but it doesn't quite match. So I put it to the vast knowledge of FG for a definitive answer. Thanks |

Looks like a Mazda RX4.
EDIT: It's not that. Hmm.. |

I can't think of a Mazda that has that short of a rake to the rear end (I can say that for sure considering I just got back from Sevenstock today) . I was thinking maybe a 70's mitsu but none fit. I'm stumped.

Looks to be in surprisingly good shape, though it's been in an accident and repainted at least once.

I was thinking Celica, I had completely forgotten about the Corona Lineup.

Reminds one a bit of a Mustang Fastback 60's era - well a bit!

The X20 Corona had several different noses through its production run.
Here's a green 74: ![]() Toyota played around a lot with noses and tails in the 70s. IIRC, there's one model (Celica, I think) that had different nose and tail treatments every year for the entire six or so years of the production run or something like that. To identify a Toyota of that era, you ignore the nose and tail and pay more attention to the greenhouse and overall shape. Edit: It's a 1975 X20 Corona Mark II. Only year with that beak and sidemarker treatment. Edit 2: I thought it might be a 76 as well, but the 76 had a tighter-woven grille: ![]() And while looking for that... I found this: ![]() Early X20 with nice girl.

The Corona Mark II...my car's direct ancestor, my car is part of the X70 series(X73 to be exact). Nice find, its almost impossible to find a 70s Toyota here while the 80s are still plentiful.

Between that and the rust that kills them, there's no wonder that vintage Toyotas are usually in sad shape.

1975 X10 Mark II with the fender badges missing. The X20 is the two door version of the X10 - but yes, the nose is different between the two in the same year.
