        Not surprised. I like Mazda in general but they simply aren't big enough to compete on a global stage with niche products like that which, in today's modern climate, are not likely to make any money. Car buyers have changed irrevocably and in order to attract buyers for specialist stuff and in particular low volume sports cars you need to be at a low price point or a premium badge or buyers will look elsewhere.

        I think I summed it up a while ago in this blog post.
