If all goes as planned, I am receiving a rather large and expensive package on Friday.

A new Blizzard heart?

Is it a new Wankel engine wrapped in a car body?

I just found this set of pics through another site and thought I would let everyone else have a peek.

Ummmmm.... I'm having one of my patented bad ideas....... someone stop me..

Currently looking starting at this eBay auction https://www.ebay.com/itm/223073225318

Note:

Here comes the bad. After getting this massive machine back to my house I noticed that someone (I'm assuming an inside job of sorts) STOLE the turbo right out from under the bonnet. The job was not done carefully or with skill. This person(s) broke the air pump housing, cut lines and did a number on some hoses and the heat shield.

Did some digging. http://www.flyingspares.com/shop/rol...t-ue71529.html

Or alternatively, figure out the size and get a modern turbo that would fit and be a lot cheaper. Bentley is even kind enough to provide a full service manual on their site for free. http://heritage.bentleymotors.com/en...ad/TSD4700.pdf

Luckily I just bought a new car, because otherwise I would've absolutely put a bid in for this. Would've fixed it up and then gone out rallycrossing it and doing other silly things with it.

Paging Der Stig

Found your next stupid project. I already approve.

I wonder if there's any money to be made exporting rust free body parts for older cars from the southern US to Europe...

I was actually thinking of exporting cars. Bring up a bunch of rust free F-bodies and Foxes up from Texas around the Woodward Dream Cruise and sell them all at a premium (compared to MI prices). Last time I checked, a rust free IrocZ Camaro in Texas was about 8k, but in MI they are 15ish.

That's cuz you don't live in the only proper city on the planet ;) Everything outside of NYC might as well be a radioactive wasteland :p

Having come back from a week in Lake George (upstate NY) I mostly stand by my statement. Even for a popular tourist area choices in entertainment are beyond limited.

I'll be in Florida again this fall (September 28th to October 12th, flying into MIA), looked for motoring-related events... there's drag racing at Sebring on the 29th, nothing at Daytona it seems, some Cars&Coffee (e.g. Gateway Classics in Coral Springs on the 29th) - any thoughts?

I think we're short on Floridians, but if anyone happens to be at an event during that time...

Not having a good car day today, got home from a vacation to find a marsh inside the Mustang (no I didn't leave the damn window open). Decided to get it up on ramps to check the bottom of the drains, overdid it and ended up driving over the ramps. Ripped off the mud guard on the driver side, easily fixed with new retainer clips, which I had laying around because I always break those. The passenger side was less good, wedged the ramp underneath the rocker panel and dented it, it's all unpainted plastic and not even visible so I probably won't bother with fixing until later. On the plus side I did find the drain clog and cleaned it out, now dealing with the swamp inside.

In my experience, that's more due to the limited imagination of city dwellers and their inability to experience anything that isn't paved and withing 10 yards of a subway stop. Come out to Utah some time, the world really does begin where the sidewalk ends.
