And if you fancy buying one, here is the brochure. Unfortunately I can't read German (yet) so I'm having a hard time figuring out whats what, but it looks like it could be AMG's 5L V8.

So I just ran the brochure through google translate, and here's what I got.

Engine: Choice of V6 or V8.
5 speed Auto box is standard, or if you want a 6-speed manual.
Hydrolic power brakes (?).
Front disk brakes.
4-channel ABS with ASR (stability control?)
Special chassis + Stainless steel shock absorbers, adjustable 2-way
Optional Fuchs alloy wheels
Optional AC upgrade. And even more optionalier to make the control unit look original. (yes, I know I just made up a word).
Electronic gauges made to look original
Sport seats
Optional upgraded audio system with original looking retro head unit (includes MP3, SatNav, Bluetooth, etc..)

The rest is just other comfort features.

So it does look like they upgraded the mechanics quite a bit to support the new engine.
And there's a convertible version.

And I did some maths. A fully loaded coupe will run you ?244,488.03 before VAT. Thats $310,866.49 USD.

Its considerably less if you provide your own donor car, but that's the price you pay if you want them to find you a car, restore it, and then upgrade it.

EDIT2: This company also apparently does other models. I wonder how much it would cost to put the S65AMG's V12 and all of its comforts into an old 600 Grosser

That's also used as a concept for the Amc gremlin........pretty much the worst car, ever.......now we know why, the real car lacked the sidepipes!
