Small cars fail crash tests against big cars.

Actually the construction principles of recent years were that small cars need to be very rigid and stiff, while big cars need to be softer to take more kinetic energy in a head to head crash.

You will always have bad cards in a Smart in such crashs - simply because the car is so small and light - but when you for example crash a Golf Mk. VI with a current Mercedes S-Class or BMW 7-Series, both cars will be nearly equal in such a situation.

Oi. I kind of meant like Golf small, not smart small. Smarts are just a couple chairs with some wheels and a windshield. In the new world everyone drives SUVs and trucks and minivans and crossovers, which are all bigger than s classes and 7 serieses, so that golf isn't going to do that great unless it t-bones the other car - in which case the people in the small car will be fine and the soccer mom in her massive suv is going to be upside down.

That or the Golf will be under the car.

Well, riding a bike is even more dangerous - but of course that's more "manly" ;)

Your choice ;)
