Heres out new R32 sitting at the dealership. We take delivery for in on Thursday and its inaugural thanging shall be soon after :D. I'll take some proper photos on the weekend with the dslr since the shitty photos from mum's point and shoot don't do it justice :p.

Niiiiiiiiiiice :woot:

Why is it sitting in the dealership? Doesn't it mean that anyone that goes to the dealership can sit in it and ruin it?

/blue brake calipers? that's a new one...

I think they went to collect the car and that's why it was on display.
Every R32 I've seen has blue calibers.

Its only got to the dealership today so its only there for 2 days. Plus its locked so no one can sit in it :). All R32's have blue brake calipers.

Sweet car... I've driven the MkV GTI on a few occasions and even that thing is crazy, would love to try the R32.

But how old is your dad? I always find it somewhat funny when I see older people driving cars like this which are more or less intended for young people.

Am I missing something on the wheels ? Dont look too press car-ish.

I still feel this looks nicer

But anyway, nice car. Enjoy it ! :D

Thats the 2005 model. All the models after that have a larger screen for the trip computer, have different wheels and have the new Satnav unit.

My dad is 45. Actually, this car is more of a mid life crisis car. If you look on r32 vortex forums, a lot of owners are over 35. Plus in Australia the car is 58k stock (we are leasing for 57k on road) so that really limits the car to the older more successful people.

The R32 is crazily fast and the brakes are very, very good :D

excellent choice!

for a time i would of personally went with the GTI Edition 30 just due to the fact that it wasnt that much less powerful and the smaller lighter engine would of made for better economy and handling. but then i heard some one floor a MK V R32 the other day in town and just.....well, it sounds awesome....i'd probably get the R32 now just for the sound.

also there is a passat estate R36....

My english teacher has one  and She's a Victorian teacher, the worst paid in the whole country!

Maybe she lives in a shoebox....

Nice choice of color :)

I'm envious of your tinted tails, no clue why we didn't get them in the states. A lot of people over here would love to have 4 doors and the 6 speed, but I still prefer 2 doors and DSG.

Does your father plan on doing any mods or keeping it stock? Either way I hope he enjoys his .:R as much as I enjoy mine. Tell him to find some twisty roads and the nearest tunnel and bring a change of pants.

I would say to keep your ears open for the door trim and exhaust rattles, but you said you're on vwvortex so I'm sure you already know the handful of foibles that might crop up on this fantastic ride.

Very nice!

I see this vehicle has the correct amount of foot pedals.

That is good.

I love the R32 and a manual one is even better.

Great car you got there ;-)

I assume the car will leave every evening, and come back with an empty tank and worn tire sidewalls? :D

Another R owner :D. I highly doubt there will be any performance mods to it. Number 1 because we have no more money:p 2. Because mum wouldn't allow it and 3. Because its leased, we don't technically own it so we might not be able to do any mods untill the 5 year lease is finished.

Indeed. The DSG was good but the manual is still more fun.

Hah. Just every weekend ;)

We are having some problems with the ipod interface. The sound quality is all distroted, theres no way to select songs or playlists from the ipod itself and the satnav unit only shows "track xx" and not like an ipod menu. Is this normal or is it fucked?

Well I dont have the Sat Nav version, but what are you describing sounds like what my iPod hookup does (beside the distorted audio, my audio is fine).
The way my iPod hookup for the VW works is it read the first 5 playlist on the iPod and puts them at 1-5 CDs and 6 CD is all the songs on the iPod. To find songs you have to seek thru it like you would with a CD and all it shows track xx.
And the iPod gets disabled as soon as you plug it in, and it just shows the VW logo (or on the iPhones it just says hooked up).
Sad that VW has not updated that, but the Germans as a whole seem behind on tech for the most part =|

So it sounds like its a dodgy connection and the auxiliary connection doesn't work at all. Looks like its a trip to the dealer on the weekend :(. On the brighter side, the engine works just fine. :D I have to get used to the clutch as its a lot different to my laser. Its a lot less tolerant to low revs on take off and the immense power makes it quite a different experience upon take off then my laser :p
