Yep, I drive a Volvo.
It's a 2003 model, had 143 000km on the clock when I bought it a couple of weeks ago and in my opinion it has one of the coolest engines Volvo has made yet. The 2.0T in this version of the S40 has 160hp and 230Nm. It can be chiptuned to over 200hp and ~330Nm, but one thing at a time.. Even in this form it pulls like hell: while cruising Finnish country roads you don't even have to change gear to pass that slower car coming towards you tail first. It has everything needed: cruise control, A/C, almost-leather-seats and most importantly it's a manual and has no driving aids except for ABS brakes. The summer tires are in quite a good shape and the dealer is giving me brand new studded tires once they get the rims from the previous owner.
Other things I've done to it so far are removing the hideous VOLVO CODE stickers from the rear windows and adding a Grom Audio USB-kit to the original head unit. It now has a cassette player, CD player, USB/MP3 player and bluetooth. Nice. I still need to override the automatic antenna before winter and buy roof racks. I'm also thinking of debadging it, but I'm not yet sure whether I should.
I know, it's a Volvo so it understeers too easily (I can vouch for that!), but I still love it. It gives me a smile every time I see it standing outside and it's a huge fun to drive
Now for some pics:
