HOLY

BALLS

...

This is awesome.

There's a small group of people lobbying for this sort of category rubbish to be brought into the UK, which would mean modified cars would loose their tax free status, and probably even their black numberplates.

Currently we have it great, any car before 1974 (rolls forward each year), is tax free. Modify the hell out of whatever you want, as long as it's MOT legal. I'm really against anything which leaves us in a similar situation to Germany, it's not something anyone should wish for when we have the current system that benefits so many.

Well said, The last thing we need here after the scrappage scheme is another reason for historic cars to be taken off the road.

Can we get a Zastava t-shirt? I'd buy one...

What would the design be? I can do something in Photoshop if people can agree on a theme.

I'd buy one for a dollar... Black logo on a green shirt, saying TEAM ZASTAVA on it?

Make one clich? shirt that says: "I did a lap around the Nordschleife in a Zastava and all i got was this lousy t-shirt".

"I did a lap around the Nordschleife in a Zastava and all i got was 55,000 views on YouTube". :D

I like the t-shirt idea, if anyone has time for that...

This weekend I put my old X1/9 wheels on the Zastava and removed the bumpers to see how that would look like.

I love it, but of course it has to be lowered. Suggestions? :)

And some detail shots for all you Zastafarians out there:

It actually looks a little bit too naked without the bumpers. Wheels are great.

Yeah. It does need the bumpers. And i would really not lower it. But i totally love the black x 1/9 wheels on it.

What it does need are more gears and more horsepower. And some bushings and shock absorbers.

Just 4 cm or so, not slammed...

And I've always liked the naked look, but on the other hand it takes just 10 minutes to mount and dismount the bumpers.

Thought: Put a period correct automatic in the thing. Also, bumpers need to go back on imo. And if we do anything with the suspension, we should modernise it a bit...
Still missing proof pic though :ninja:

EDIT: As for lowering, if we get the distance around the wheels identical all around that's enough i think. Not slammed. 4cm is a good estimate.

I think it looks great without the bumpers, not as cute as it did with them but great all the same.

I'm going to have a go at a vector of the logo, I'll see what I can come up with.

I think a look like my X1/9's, not too low and still drivable and comfortable over bad roads.

Forgot the proof pic...

I'll search what's on offer for suspension parts and look for knowledgable people. I don't wand a Swiftesque bumpy ride...
There are conversion kits to struts in the back, though I like the idea of a transverse leafspring for it's quirkiness.

And I don't know about the automatics from back then, I'm sure they're rare and crap, but I'll have a look.

There were no zastava auto gearboxes. Maybe some fiat ones. But oh god you don't want this in the car...

Yes, Uno ones existed and some people swapped them into X1/9s, but I've never driven one.
